Wendy's battle against her guardianship comes after she broke down in a rare interview with Charlamagne tha God earlier this month while discussing her health and court-ordered guardianship.
"I feel like I'm in prison" - says Wendy Williams about her guardianship
Wendy Williams broke down earlier this month while speaking to Charlamagne tha God about her guardianship. She said,
"My life is f****ked up. I feel like I'm in prison. I'm definitely isolated. I keep the door closed, I watch TV, listen to the radio and look out the window. Sit here as my life goes by."
Her interview comes after Wendy Williams' representatives shared that she had been diagnosed with aphasia and frontotemporal dementia. Her family had been fighting a public battle with her court-appointed guardian, Sabrina E. Morrissey, who they claimed has kept Wendy isolated from her family and friends.
Williams has been living in a New York City wellness facility and claimed that she's "not cognitively impaired" like Sabrina claimed her to be.
Williams mentioned that she is not allowed to use her personal phone or computer without a key and her niece, while describing the situation, said,
"Instead of this guardian, Sabrina, working with her, it seems like she's made it difficult for my aunt to live any sort of healthy, independent life."
Wendy Williams in other interviews also claimed that Morrissey recently informed her that she gave away both her cats and may not allow her to fly to Miami for her father's upcoming 94th birthday. Williams was placed under a guardianship in 2022 by a New York Judge.
