Rapper Chancelor Johnathan Bennett, aka Chance The Rapper, and his wife Kirsten Corley have called off their marriage. Corley reportedly made the first move by filing for divorce. As per media outlets, divorce papers were sent to the rapper on December 13, 2024.
Their marriage, held at Pelican Hill Resort in California’s Newport Beach, lasted for five years. Celebrities like Kanye West and Kim Kardashian were reportedly present at their wedding.
For those who are unaware Kirsten Corley is a former model, influencer, and entrepreneur, according to People Magazine. She is also the founder of a children’s clothing brand named ‘World of BOBY’ which she launched in 2020. Corley was an alumna of DePaul University where she completed her degree in Psychology. She also played basketball at one point in her life.
The couple dated from 2013 to 2019. Earlier when they planned to get a divorce in April 2024, the duo decided to look after the kids Kensli and Marli together. However, according to a TMZ exclusive from December 17, 2024, the couple already had a prenuptial agreement in place.
As per the media outlet, Kirsten Corley cited incompatible differences for their divorce. The two kids stay with her and Corley will seek child support from Chance The Rapper without maintenance. However, more information about their separation is not available at the time of writing the story.
As of now, they have not released individual statements about their separation. According to Hotnewhiphop, Corley shared an Instagram story in April 2024 stating they have mutually decided to part ways.
However, she mentioned that she was grateful for the time they spent together. The couple looked forward to co-parenting their two daughters and requested privacy and respect during the transition.

Although Chance The Rapper and Kirsten Corley started dating in 2013, they have known each other since childhood. In 2019, Chance shared how he first met Corley at his mom's office party in 2003, when he was just 9 in an X (formerly Twitter) thread.
He recalled seeing Kirsten Corley perform a Destiny's Child dance routine. Although he was captivated by her, he felt nervous to introduce himself. Years later, they reconnected at the South by Southwest Film Festival in 2012 and grew closer after returning to Chicago.
He proposed to her in 2018. During their wedding in 2019, their elder daughter Kensli was graced as the flower girl. They welcomed their second daughter Marli in 2019 after which Chance The Rapper stepped back from his tour to be with his family. While speaking to People Magazine, he said:
“I've been waking up daily with a newfound gratitude and being very grateful that I'm married right now.”
In September 2020, Chance The Rapper and Kirsten Corley appeared on the cover of Parents magazine. They discussed parenting during the COVID-19 pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement.
