The internet is buzzing with the engagement news of Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good. The couple announced the news as they walked the red carpet at the EBONY Power 100 Gala event in Los Angeles.
The couple dazzled in a black and gold ensemble at the gala event, but Meagan’s diamond ring stole the show. They first sparked dating rumors in 2023 amid Major’s legal troubles.
However, many may be unaware that the Antman and the Wasp: Quantamania actor is also a dad to a 10-year-old daughter named Ella.
In a 2020 interview, Jonathan Majors told People Magazine that he has a 7-year-old daughter. “I have a 7 year old who’s mixed race,” he said.
“She has to understand that it’s actually not ‘black history’— it’s American history. The way it’s taught now, its honestly the Jim Crow system of separate but equal. We’ll give it one month, 12 pages in the history book…we’ll talk about Harriet Tubman, Rosa Park, MLK, then we’ll give you a little quiz about it. And that’s it.”
The identity of Ella’s mother is not known, but according to JustJared, Ella resides in Atlanta with her mother.
More about Jonathan Majors’ daughter
In a 2022 interview with Today, Jonathan Majors revealed that his daughter was unaware of his profession until she learned he would be in a movie with Ant-Man.
"All she understands is that I'm in a movie with Paul Rudd, with Ant-Man," the actor said. He further added that she never acts as if her dad is a famous personality. "I've never seen my daughter starstruck. She's like, 'Nice to see you, too' to Paul Rudd and I lost my mind. I was like 'What did you say?' Oh my god." He added.
Majors said he plans to teach her daughter the difference between needs and wants. "You look at something and you go, 'Do I need that? Do I want it?'" he explained. "And the need is going to help you move forward and the want is going to make you think about it, make you feel something."
The Creed III actor opened up in an interview with Insider about the choice of roles he is being offered. He explained that he wanted to be an inspiration for his daughter.
“I just want to make her proud and do things that she could look at and go, 'Yeah, that's the way that goes — I understand why he did that,'" Majors said.
He continued -
"Or at some point, she will watch [my] films, and then she'll see Regina King and she'll see Zazie Beetz. And maybe she'll watch [Lovecraft Country] and see Jurnee Smollet, see Aunjanue Ellis and understand that even though I tell her, she can see it, 'You can be all this, you can be all that.'"
