David Siegel, the CEO and founder of Westgate Resorts, passed away on Saturday at the age of 89. The billionaire, who was married to socialite and former model Jackie Siegal, died at his home surrounded by his family.
Although an official cause of death was not released, it is said that Siegal was battling cancer, as reported by the Las Vegas Journal Review. A statement released by the Westgate Resorts read:
"It is with profound sadness we announce the death our founder. Throughout his life, as well as in his last years, David’s passion for our company, our industry and the hospitality we create was always at the forefront of his mind. David never forgot his humble roots, starting Westgate in his garage and using the company as a way to lead others to become inspired and successful.”
His wife, Jackie Siegel, who was crowned Mrs. Florida America in 1993, shared the news on X (formerly Twitter), announcing his death. She wrote:
"My husband, David Alan Siegel, passed away this morning. I was lucky enough to share 25 wonderful years with David, and together we raised eight incredible children. His life and legacy live on through them all. Thank you for your love and support.It means the world to us."

David Alan Siegel was born on 3 May 1935 to parents Sadelle and Sidney Siegel in Chicago. He studied marketing and management at the University of Miami but later dropped out to pursue his business interests.
David Siegel was estimated to have a net worth of $500 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. He founded Westgate Resorts Hotel in 1982. At the time of his death, he was the owner of twenty-two hotels and resorts across the country, with the iconic Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino, formerly known as the Las Vegas Hilton, being one of them.
David Siegel was married thrice, with the first two marriages ending in divorce. He later married Jacqueline Siegel, a former beauty queen, in 2000. The couple, who had an age difference of over thirty years, were parents to six biological children, along with David being the stepfather to Jacqueline's two children from her previous relationship. David also had four children from his previous marriages.
David Siegel's daughter, Victoria Siegel, passed away in 2015, at the age of eighteen, from an apparent drug overdose. This led David and Jacqueline Siegel to launch the Victoria's Voice Foundation in 2019. David Siegel was known for his efforts in increasing awareness about opioid addiction among youngsters.
David and Jacqueline Siegel's family was the subject of a documentary, "The Queen of Versailles." The film chronicled their lavish lifestyle against the backdrop of the 2008 economic crisis and chronicled the construction of their mansion.
In January of this year, Jacqueline, who calls herself the "Queen of Versailles," posted a video on Instagram where she gave fans a tour of their house, which was nearing completion.
David Siegel is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Siegel, his children, stepchildren, their spouses, and grandchildren.
