Who is Ja' Yunna Monae? Influencer speaks out after football player Quaydarius Davis allegedly filmed assaulting girlfriend in viral video

A clip of former Southern University football player Quaydarius Davis allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Ja' Yunna Monae, is making the rounds on the internet.

After the CCTV footage went viral, the college athlete was booked into Oklahoma’s Tulsa County Jail while the alleged victim addressed the incident. After stating she was fine, Monae added that she would be pressing charges against Davis.

Ja' Yunna is a social media influencer with over 113K and 222.2K followers on Instagram and X, respectively. According to her IZEA profile, the Mississippi native is a model and reality TV star currently residing in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Ja' Yunna Monae’s bio reads,

The model recently shared the CCTV footage of alleged domestic abuse and revealed what happened between her and Davis.

The social media influencer posted a clip of herself getting dragged and choked by her ex-partner. Monae shared details of everything that allegedly transpired on April 12, claiming that Quaydarius Davis kicked her door down and punched her many times after their breakup.

After the details of the alleged domestic abuse and the clip went viral, Ja' Yunna Monae reacted on X and later shared the statement via Instagram Stories. She wrote about pressing the charges and “not going back,”

“I'm ok, by the GRACE OF GOD I GOT UP 💕🙏🏽my downstairs neighbors got cameras pointed directly towards my door. Everything is captured… I called the police ..I will be pressing charges , and NO I AM NOT GOING BACK . I'm the one who initiated the break up cause so many red flags were occuring and he was being super possessive.”

Ja' Yunna Monae asserted that she knows her “deal breakers” and would rather end a relationship within a month than deal with it for a year. She added,

“Mentally I'm not okay, my father and mother could've lost a daughter … my siblings could've lost me … physically I am in pain … I see all you guys reaching out but I am super overwhelmed I haven't slept since … please bear with me , and I'll respond when I'm feeling up to part.”

Ja' Yunna Monae also wrote on X, sharing that she was admitted to the hospital,

“I also went to the hospital , my vessels in my neck is okay , it’s just a couple bruising and my neck is very very very sore !”

According to CBS-affiliated WAFB 9, Davis is facing charges of “first-degree burglary and domestic abuse and battery by strangulation.” The channel reported that Davis was associated with Southern University until October last year. He was dismissed for breaking unspecified team rules.
