In 2019, Halle Berry played Sofia Al-Azwar alongside Keanu Reeves in John Wick: Chapter 3—Parabellum.
Although Halle's character Sofia was absent from 2023's John Wick: Chapter 4, the actress reveals she will reprise her role in a potential spin-off.
While speaking to The Hollywood Reporter in an article published on September 24, Halle said she would love to play Sofia again if director Chad Stahelski gave her a chance.
While talking about the possibility of a spin-off, Halle said,
"We talked about a spinoff with Lionsgate that could potentially happen. I love that universe. I love John Wick and I loved that character, so you never know."
Sofia Al-Azwar is a former assassin and an old friend of John Wick. She is the manager of the Casablanca branch of the Continental Hotel, which helped Wick seek out the Elder after being declared excommunicado.

While speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Halle Berry addressed the plot in John Wick 4.
In John Wick 3, Halle's character, Sofia Al-Azwar, is introduced as John's former friend who helped him fight against the High Table Organization to repay a debt following his rescue of her daughter.
In the film, Sofia mentions that her daughter could get into trouble for helping John. While picking up the plot from where it left off, Halle Berry expresses her disappointment with John Wick 4, which was released in 2023 and does not continue Sofia's storyline.
"Yeah, I wish that would've happened, but that's not the route they went. We talked about it, that's for sure."
This isn't the first time Halle Berry has showed excitement on reprising a role. In September 2024, Halle appeared on Andy Cohen's Live Sirius XM Show, where he called the actress "ageless" and "timeless" and asked if she would ever do a Catwoman movie, to which the actress responded, saying,
"I love Catwoman. I do. Yeah. You know, we'd make some changes, but yeah. I love Catwoman. Very close to my heart."
The upcoming John Wick 5 is set to begin production in 2025 and potentially release in late 2026. In the previous movie, John Wick gets shot during the third round of a duel and allegedly dies on the steps of the Basilica of Sacre Coeur after seeing a vision of his late wife, Helen.
The final scene shows Winston and the Bowery King visiting John's gravestone.
