Actor and voiceover artist James Earl Jones passed away at the age of 93, on September 9, 2024. The icon, survived by his only son, Flynn Earl Jones, was known for voicing characters like Darth Vader in Star Wars and Mufasa in The Lion King. Flynn has made his foray into the entertainment industry with a knack for voiceovers, much like his father.
He is the son of James Earl Jones and Cecilia Hart who got married that same year after meeting on the sets of the police procedural series Paris, as per The Hollywood Reporter. His father played the lead, Captain Woody Paris and his mother played Sergeant Stacey Erickson.

Unlike his legendary father, Flynn Earl Jones has opted to stay out of the limelight and has virtually no public account online. Instead, he focuses on narrating audiobooks. He has an expansive portfolio, including the works of Bright Boulevards, Bold Dreams: The Story of Black Hollywood, Lions of the Sky, and the Rogue Star series, among others.
Despite typically staying on the down-low, Flynn has been known to show up for award ceremonies and red-carpet events in a show of support for his parents. in October 2010, the Jones family made their way to Broadway in New York City for the opening night of Driving Miss Daisy. He also attended his father's closing night performance the next year in April.
In 2017, his father was awarded the Tony Lifetime Achievement Award, and during his acceptance speech, he thanked his wife and gave a nod to his son.
"I want to thank my wife Ceci for being such a wonderful companion in my life and in my work. And for being the great co-producer of our son Flynn and for being so dazzling on the red carpet."
Flynn Earl Jones's entertainment ties extend to his wife, actress Lorena Monagas, as well. The two got hitched in 2019. According to her website, she describes herself as a "storyteller and multi-disciplinary artist." She has worked on several film, multimedia, and voice-over projects.
She also earned an MFA from The Academy for Classical Acting at the Shakespeare Theatre and George Washington University, and a BFA from the Fashion Institute of Technology in Graphic design. Furthermore, she has been trained at Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, Massachusetts, and Casa Cruz de la Luna in San Germán, Puerto Rico, among others.
James told CBS News in October 2014 that he and Flynn share a more work-driven relationship. His mother, Cecilia Hart passed away at 68, in 2016, after battling ovarian cancer.
