Eva Longoria, 50, is considered one of Hollywood's beloved actresses, appreciated and admired for her acting and magnificent looks. Recently, in a conversation with Today, the actress recalled her childhood and called herself "the ugly duckling."

Youngest among the sisters, Eva reminisced about her younger days in this recent interview published on March 23. She shared,

"I was performative in my family because I was the ugly duckling. Documentation is available if you need it."

Eva Longoria, born on March 15, 1975, grew up with three elder sisters - Elizabeth Judina Longoria (born on October 11, 1966), Emily Jeannette Longoria (born on August 19, 1969), and Esmeralda Josephina Longoria (born on November 7, 1972). With parents and siblings, the renowned star spent her childhood in Texas, surrounded by cows, chickens, vegetable gardens, and trees.

Everything we know about Eva Longoria’s sisters

While walking down memory lane and sharing never-heard-before stories from those special days, the Desperate Housewives star revealed how her siblings are blonde and look quite similar to each other.

"My three sisters look alike. They are all blonde. I knew I wasn’t the pretty one and I was like, 'OK, I’m not the pretty one so I’m going to be the funny one. I’m going to be the smart one.'"

Eva and the other Longoria sisters had a unique upbringing. Their parents, Ella Mireles and Enrique Longoria Jr., brought them up on a ranch near Corpus Christi where all the kids had to arrange fresh ingredients for the day.

During the interview with the outlet, Eva Longoria further continued,

"We had to go get the eggs in the morning. We had to milk the cow for the milk that was going to go in the coffee and in our cereal."

According to a People Magazine report, Eva's oldest sister was born with special needs. To take the utmost care of her, their mother became a teacher, too.

While speaking with The Wall Street Journal, Eva shared,

"My mother even applied to be a teacher’s assistant and was assigned to my sister’s class. She followed Liza from grade to grade."

The actress grew up with strong and supportive women and found her role models within her family. In a 2023 conversation with People Magazine, she chimed in,

"I come from a family of independent, strong women. I didn't have to look far for those role models."

She further continued:

“My mom raised four girls, one child with special needs, had a full-time job, had dinner on the table every day at six, was at every band practice, cheerleading practice, everything. And so for me, it's like, 'Wow. I am not doing enough in my life!.'"

All the Longoria sisters had a great childhood where they were raised by learning different thrilling activities. In an interview on NBC’s Dateline, Eva Longoria expressed how she learned to hunt when she was just 6. Her father was a mechanical engineer and a rancher, and she taught her daughters the skills to become a "pioneer woman."

"[I’ve been] hunting with my dad since I [was] six. I can handle a gun. I could skin a deer, I could skin a pig. I can pluck quail, you name it, I’ve done it," she shared.

Though Eva's sisters choose to keep their lives private and not attract any limelight, they often go the extra mile to support their little sister in public. On January 14, Liza joined her youngest sister, Eva Longoria, as the actress was the co-host for TODAY with Jenna & Friends.

From Esmeralda and Emily joining Eva for the Global Gift Gala in Marbella in 2017 to all her siblings witnessing Eva receiving the honor of the Hollywood Walk of Fame star, they stand beside their sister firmly.

Eva Longoria often spoke about her eldest sibling, Elizabeth, as one of the biggest inspirations behind her charity and philanthropic efforts. She introduced Eva's Heroes in 2016, a charity focusing on helping people with intellectual disabilities aged 14 and above.

Emily is a lawyer by profession. She married David Brown in 1987. Following her divorce, she married Dennis Blevins in 1995.

According to a Tuko News report, Esmeralda is a special education teacher in Texas. In fact, she is another major reason motivating Eva to be involved in supporting and helping people with special needs. She married Scott Traube in 2005.
