Marieangela King, 37, filed for divorce from her husband, Elijah Blue Allman, 48, Cher's son, on April 8. According to a People Magazine report, she stated irreconcilable differences as the reason behind their separation.

Before Marieangela, Elijah filed for divorce from his wife in 2021. Though he initially decided to end the marriage, he wanted to dismiss the separation and took the necessary steps in January of last year. Later, in February, a judge granted his official request.

Cher's daughter-in-law, Marieangela King, is a well-known British singer. Born on July 16, 1987, in Mumbai, she is popular for her contribution to a pop band named KING. Created in 1997, she joined the band with her family members as the lead vocalist.

More than her official name, Marieangela is popularly known as Queeny King, her stage name. Some of her famous songs are Freakshow, Make Me Baby, and She Wants To Kill Me.

In December 2013, King got married to Elijah Blue Allman. According to a US Weekly report, they tied the knot after eloping. Interestingly, they met each other in that year itself in Germany. Elijah was undergoing treatment for Lyme disease. Later, they decided to take the next step.

However, Marieangela King filed for a divorce around 12 years after their wedding. In a conversation with People Magazine, she shared,

"We had a beautiful 13-year journey, filled with memories I’ll always cherish. I know we’ll remain friends, and Elijah will always hold a special place in my heart."

Marieangela King further continued:

"As we turn the page to this next chapter, we kindly ask for privacy and truly appreciate your understanding."

Elijah and Marieangela decided to get separated in April 2020. As discussed earlier, Allman also filed for a divorce in 2021 but later wanted to dismiss it. The couple spent some time "reconciling and cohabitating", according to a legal filing obtained by the outlet.

During that phase, she stated that his mother

"objects to my reconciliation with Marieangela."

In October 2023, the singer stated in a court filing that she did not meet her husband as Cher interfered with his "health management as well as his location and accessibility."

The couple faced a few hurdles in their relationship when Elijah struggled with recovering from alcohol and drugs, especially when King wrote in a court filing,

Later, in September 2023, Marieangela King also shared that Cher appointed men to kidnap Elijah. However, Cher denied the allegation.
