Former F1 team boss cum TV pundit Eddie Jordan has died at the age of 76, following a battle with prostate and bladder cancer.
The Formula One legend announced his diagnosis late last year, revealing that he had been battling the illness for almost all of 2024. However, he chose to keep his struggles private as he received treatment. His family confirmed his death in a statement.
Jordan was married to Marie Jordan from 1979 until his demise, and they welcomed four children during their time together. Marie is renowned for having represented Ireland in women's basketball and also served as the captain of Sunningdale Golf Club. She is also a professional photographer, with some of her work being put on display at the Saatchi Art Fair in London in October 2023.
The pair share four children: Zoe, Miki, Zak and Kyle. Zoe, 43, works as a fashion designer, while Miki works in sports event management. Zak is a snowboard teacher and competitor, while Kyle co-founded a sustainable cleaning products company.
The life and legacy of Eddie Jordan explored as his family mourns his demise:

A statement from the family reads as follows:
"It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Eddie Jordan OBE, the ex-Formula 1 team owner, TV pundit and entrepreneur. He passed away peacefully with family by his side in Cape Town in the early hours of 20 March 2025. He was working until the last, having communicated on St Patrick's Day about his ambitions for London Irish Rugby Football Club, of which he had recently become patron."
The statement goes on:
"Eddie and Jordan Grand Prix were known for their rock and roll image, bringing a fun and exciting element to F1, as well as consistently performing above their weight. Many successful F1 drivers owe their career breaks to Eddie, and world champions including Michael Schumacher and Damon Hill drove for him. EJ brought an abundance of charisma, energy and Irish charm everywhere he went. We all have a huge hole missing without his presence. He will be missed by so many people, but he leaves us with tonnes of great memories to keep us smiling through our sorrow."
Eddie Jordan was the owner of the Jordan Grand Prix team, renowned for competing in the F1 between 1991 and 2005. It is also popular for having allowed Michael Schumacher to make his F1 debut at the 1991 Belgian Grand Prix.
While Eddie Jordan never raced in the F1 himself, he did race F2, F3, and Formula Atlantic, in addition to 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1981. 10 years later, he made his foray into the premier racing class with his Jordan Grand Prix team.
The Dublin-born boss, who abandoned ownership in 2005, made his final TV appearance on live radio in February 2025. Speaking on talkSPORT at the time, he said, towards the end of his segment:
"Sorry guys, just a small thing, thank you. I've just come out of getting chemotherapy and I'm not 100 per cent together here guys. I'm just not myself at this moment in time. I'm a little all over the place, so please forgive me."
Eddie Jordan is also renowned for having launched a podcast, Formula for Success (FFS), with recently retired David Coulthard. He can also be credited with the idea of Lewis Hamilton leaving McLaren and signing for Mercedes.
