EBK Jaaybo whose official name is Jaymani Gorman is a 21-year-old rapper who gained recognition for his hit song, Boogieman, which topped charts including Billboard's Bubbling Under Hot 100, and Hot R&B/Hip Songs. Jaaybe is from Stockton, and has been active in the rap industry since 2018, with albums including The Reaper and Sinners player.
The rapper was reportedly arrested on the morning of March 6, in his hometown, Stockton, California, shortly after filming a music video, on drug and ammunition charges. The arrest comes a month after his release from jail, as per XXL.
The rapper is charged with the possession of a controlled substance, ammunition, driving without a license, and violations of probation terms. He was pulled over by the police for not stopping at a stop sign, and is now in jail without bond.
EBK Jaaybo was released in February, after serving time for firearm possesion and other charges and took to Instagram in a February 4 post, to show off cash bundles on a flight. The post featured several photos and videos and was captioned: "Push up I heard he a score I want that."
EBK Jaaybo's court hearing is set for March 10
Rapper EBK Jaaybo's next court date is set for March 7. He is also reportedly scheduled for a court hearing on his probation violation on March 10. A video surfaced online on March 5 night, of the rapper on set with Stunna Girl and VonOff1700 after he was released on February 6. The rapper had spent a year-long sentence in the San Joaquin County Jail for illegal gun possession.
Last year, the rapper released his album, The Reaper, comprising bangers like Satanic and Straight to Hell from Jail. While speaking to iHeartRadio in an interview published in September, 2024, EBK Jaaybo opened up about the inspiration behind the album,
"I ain't write none of them songs of nothing. I just went in there and just went crazy. I was fresh out. I had so much to say and so much on my mind that I couldn't express. I was in jail. A n***a just hit the booth and went crazy and it just turned out to be phenomenal."
The album includes 21 tracks, and are inspired from EBK Jaaybo's reflections on his real-life experiences on the streets. This is the eighth time, the rapper has a run-in with law enforcement, after his first at age 14.
