Many of the media company’s employees who were affected by the tragedy will receive assistance through Disney’s Employee Relief Fund.

Bob Iger, CEO of the multimedia giant, said:

“As this tragedy continues to unfold, The Walt Disney Company is committed to supporting our community and our employees as we all work together to recover and rebuild from this unbelievable devastation.”

Iger added:

“Walt Disney came to Los Angeles with little more than his limitless imagination, and it was here that he chose to make his home, pursue his dreams, and create extraordinary storytelling that means so much to so many people around the world. Kroger, the American retail corporation, has pledged a million dollars to the “families impacted by the devastating wildfires.” All of the Kroger Family of Companies, including southern California's Ralphs and Food4Less stores, will collectively raise the pledged money to support relief efforts. Here’s a quote from Rodney McMullen, Chairman and CEO of Kroger:

"We strive to fulfill our purpose, to Feed the Human Spirit, every day, and especially when disaster strikes. Our associates are always among the first to support our communities during natural disasters, and the situation in southern California is no different.”

McMullen added:

“I'm so proud of how quickly our teams have worked to reopen stores that were temporarily closed during the unfolding wildfire situation to ensure we're a resource for customers who need fresh food, pantry staples and necessities like water and ice. Our hearts are with everyone who is impacted by this tragedy – especially our team of associates and their extended families – and we are grateful to the first responders working so hard to protect our communities."

Sports leagues also joined in with support — NFL, NBA, and MLB

The establishments behind the major sports leagues such as the NFL, NBA, and MLB have also extended support for the relief efforts, individually announcing their pledge for donations.

The NFL family announced a donation of $5 million to help the affected in the LA region. The donation is “led by the individual contributions from clubs and ownership groups from the Los Angeles Chargers, Los Angeles Rams, Minnesota Vikings, Houston Texans and NFL Foundation.”

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said:

“We are heartbroken over the devastating losses experienced by so many in the Los Angeles area and inspired by the heroism of first responders and residents who have supported their neighbors. The NFL family is committed to working with the Los Angeles Chargers and Los Angeles Rams to support their local communities in their time of need."

Major League Baseball, in collaboration with “other major professional sports leagues and 15 Los Angeles sports organizations,” has also pledged its support to the cause. All entities have partnered with Fanatics to produce special merchandise, namely “LA Strong.”

None of the organizations will profit from the sales, and donations will be made towards relief groups like the LA Fire Department Foundation and the American Red Cross.
