Daryl Hannah showed support for Ukraine when she took to stage at the 97th Academy Awards. The Blade Runner actress took the stage to present a special segment marking the 20th anniversary of the cult classic movie Kill Bill, and also present an award.

On stage, instead of reading from the teleprompter, Daryl Hannah went off script and shouted "Slava Ukraine," a phrase that translates to "Glory to Ukraine," before continuing with her presentation of the Academy Award for Best Editing.

Her show of support for Ukraine came in wake of the heated Trump-Zelensky debacle at the White House last week.

Daryl Hannah, who is married to the 79-year-old singer, Neil Young, has always voiced her support for Ukraine, over the years. The Kill Bill had actress tweeted in 2022:

"My ♥️ goes out to the people in the #Ukraine who were so so lovely when we visited just b4 the heartbreakingly horrid 2014 invasion. I recall being alarmed when I saw my 1986 KGB Russian escort show up at a film fest in Odessa?! But then, a short weeks thereafter — the invasion.."

Actress Daryl Hannah and Canadian-American singer Neil Young got married in 2018. The couple, who have a 15-year age gap, dated for four years before tying the knot. Hannah is also the stepmother to Young's two children from his marriage to Pegi Young.

The Heart of Gold singer was married twice before, first to Susan Acevedo and then Pegi Young. Just a few months after his divorce from Pegi Young, he was seen with Daryl Hannah. The Revolution Blues singer, talking about Hannah, said during an interview:

"When we got together, even some of my good friends were negative about it, and I could never understand it. [Daryl is] a wonderful human being, and I’m very lucky to know her. That’s all I was thinking.”

He added:

"We’re very lucky to have found each other. I’m eternally thankful for the opportunity to share my life with her, and she feels the same.”

The Legal Eagles actress had never married before, and had a private and intimate wedding ceremony with Young, attended by her closest family and friends.

Before their marriage was confirned, the actress posted this picture on her Instagram, sparking speculations.

The Roxanne star also directed the 2018 Netflix film, Paradox, which starred Neil Young. The couple later collaborated once again for Neil Young's documentary for his album, Barn. Asked about collaborating with his wife, the singer told Rolling Stone:

"She’s just a natural. She’s wanted to do films since she was old enough to wear sneakers. I mean, she just loves it. She’s incredibly talented and connected. She gets moved by the music and gets really involved.”

Both Hannah and Young are passionate activists, involved in various causes, including environmental activism. Back in 2014, they were seen leading the March against the proposed Keystone Pipeline.
