More about the outrage against Dana Droppo
Taylor Swift fans have taken to social media to slam Billboard's Chief Brand Officer, Dana Droppo after tweets against the singer surfaced on the internet. In some of the tweets, Dana can be seen alleging that Swift "can't keep a man" and called her a "loser." She also made several comments about Rihanna by comparing her to Evelyn Lozada and reacted to her comments on her childbirth experience.
It was anticipated that Beyonce would be getting the top spot. However, Swifties disagreed and brought up chart records of the performance of the two artists, alleging that the ranking did not make sense.
Although Dana deactivated her account recently, fans did not stop and brought up Billboard's post, which featured a video celebrating Taylor Swift's achievement as the second greatest pop star of the 21st century after Beyonce. While the video's aim was to showcase Swift's flourishing career, it included a brief clip from Ye's Famous video, which featured a naked wax figure of the singer.
Taylor's fans demanded an apology from Billboard and threatened to boycott the platform using the hashtag #BillboardIsOverParty.
Billboard took to X to apologize for the mishap saying,
"We are deeply sorry to Taylor Swift and all of our readers and viewers that in a video celebrating Swift's achievements, we included a clip that falsely depicted her. We have removed the clip from our video and sincerely regret the harm we caused with this error."
Taylor Swift is yet to respond to Billboard's mishap and her fans on the incident.
