One of hip-hop’s most iconic artists, The Notorious B.I.G., had a son named C.J. Wallace, also known as Christopher Jordan, and a daughter named T’yanna Wallace, who were both born to different mothers.
Both of them have made their impact on the music industry in their own way. Born on August 10, 1993, T’yanna Wallace was The Notorious B.I.G.’s oldest child, whom he had with his high school sweetheart, Jan Jackson.
Although she lost her father at a young age, T’yanna has made sure his legacy continues through her. Instead of jumping into the music business, she became a businesswoman, launching Notorious Clothing, a clothing line inspired by her father’s impact on hip-hop and fashion.
She started the brand while she was a student at Penn State University. She continued to honor her father in 2024 with the launch of The Biggie Experience, an immersive exhibition in New York that gives fans an inside glimpse into his life and legacy. When asked what motivated her, T’yanna said,
"I always wanted to be the person who says, ‘OK, my dad’s not here anymore, but I know how special he is.'"
Christopher Jordan, or C.J. Wallace, was born on October 29, 1996, to Biggie and the singer Faith Evans. Just six months later, his father was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting.
C.J. took a different path from his sister by venturing into acting and business. He played a younger version of his father in the 2009 biopic Notorious, a project that sparked his interest in filmmaking.
Beyond acting, C.J. Wallace has pursued entrepreneurial projects, launching the lifestyle brand Frank White, named after one of the aliases of his father. He also founded the Think BIG initiative, which promotes the legalization of cannabis and criminal justice reform.
T’yanna Wallace and C.J. Wallace honor their Grandmother, Voletta Wallace
The Wallace family just recently endured another immense loss when Voletta Wallace, Biggie Smalls’ mother, died at the age of 78. According to Hip-Hop Legends, she had been a key part of preserving her son’s legacy, managing his estate, and making sure that his music was able to reach generations.
On March 11, 2025, a public memorial was held, followed by a private funeral on March 12. C.J. Wallace has publicly acknowledged the role of his grandmother, who worked tirelessly to protect and uplift Biggie’s name.
The service was attended by hip-hop legends and close family members such as Faith Evans, Ma $ e, Lil’ Kim, and JAY-Z’s mother, Gloria Carter.
Biggie’s children, C.J. and T’yanna, were also present and honored the woman who had spent her life preserving their father’s legacy.
