Edward "Big Ed" Brown, 59, popularly known as the reality star from TLC's 90 Day Fiancé, is engaged. This time, he proposed to Porscha Raemond, 29, after a romance that lasted all of 24 hours.
The couple met at a fan meet-and-greet at Capriotti's Sandwich Shop in Plantation, Florida, TMZ reported. He told the outlet "It was love at first bite."
A few hours later, the reality star told TMZ that he was "feeling it," so, he fashioned a ring out of a paper clip, that he borrowed from the restaurant manager, and popped the big question to her while they were out eating.
TMZ reported that according to sources, the situation is "definitely real." The proposal comes just months after his breakup with ex-fiancé Liz Woods.
Big Ed popped says he wouldn't "recommend" dating a fan
On the day of their first meet, Raemond took to Instagram to share her excitement. It was a collage of photos; in one, he could be seen smiling with his arm around her, and in the other, she gave him a peck on his cheek, with the caption: "You're even better in person! [heart emoji].
Big Ed reposted one of her stories, in which she shared a picture of the autograph he signed for her.
The two went out the following day, and Ed called the shots then and there. He got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. TMZ reported that the party was stunned, as no one saw it coming. Once they tie the knot, Raemond will be Brown's second wife.
Big Ed first went viral for his role in season 4 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days in 2020. He was filmed as he made his way to the Philippines to try and win the heart of Rose Vega, his then-girlfriend. However, things didn't work out between them and the two went their separate ways.
He then signed on for the spin-off, 90 Day: The Single Life, where he met, and subsequently got engaged to Liz Woods in the first season. However, the pair shared a rocky relationship, which fell apart at the seams before they could make it to the altar.
The two called it off about 15 times, before finally ending it for good in Season 8. Liz confirmed their breakup in February 2024 with pictures of her and a new beau.
Come May 2024, Ed told Us Weekly that he was open to dating again, but had his reservations about dating a fan.
“Would I date a fan? I have [and] I don’t recommend it. Here’s why: They like Big Ed, the character that I created, and once they get to know the real Ed … it’s not the same. So, dating fans, in general, [isn’t] a good idea.”
Big Ed was first married to Sandra Heckman from 1990 to 1992, with whom he shares a daughter, Tiffany. They parted ways due to Ed's alleged infidelity. He has yet to share the happy news on his Instagram.
