Jelly Roll, the famous country music star, has spoken candidly about his tumultuous past and his path to a more stable life for himself and his daughter Bailee Ann, whom he had with his ex-girlfriend Felicia Beckwith.
Jelly Roll and his now wife, Bunnie XO, have had custody of Bailee for years, due Beckwith’s history with drug addiction. Felicia Beckwith encountered Jelly Roll at a friend’s home while he was still participating in drug-related behaviors.
The couple welcomed their daughter, Bailee Ann, on May 22, 2008. But Jelly Roll was in jail when Bailee was born, a moment that he would ultimately describe as a pivotal time in his life.
Felicia Beckwith’s addiction issues are well-documented, in Jelly Roll’s Hulu documentary Jelly Roll: Save Me and on public forums where he has discussed the effects that substance abuse can have on families.
In 2016 Felicia was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and prescribed medication that eventually led to her using heroin. Felicia got addicted and was so far gone that she couldn’t take care of Bailee so Jelly Roll, and his wife Bunnie XO, became her full-time guardians. Felicia had sole custody of Bailee at first, and the country singer struggled to get visitation.
"Bailee’s mother made it hard on me at first. She made me go to court to even see her. I barely got to see her in the early years because I was traveling so much." Jelly Roll stated in the documentary.
Felicia Beckwith's recent Legal Troubles and Bailee Ann’s Perspective on Her Mother
Felicia Beckwith was arrested in Johnson City, Tennessee, in February 2024 on multiple drug-related charges. She was arrested after a traffic stop led authorities to search a residence where a large amount of methamphetamine, fentanyl, firearms and cash were found.
Felicia, along with two other individuals, was charged with drug possession, distribution, and paraphernalia-related offenses. Felicia took steps toward recovery and was said to have stayed sober for years. But by early 2024, there were reports that she had relapsed.
Bailee Ann has publicly spoken about her mother’s relapse in an episode of the Dumb Blonde podcast hosted by Bunnie XO, where she opened up about the painful experience of watching her mom return to substance use.
"She was like, 'Yeah, I've been doing but it's recreational.' What the f--k? And I remember freaking out and then she like talked me down and she's like, 'It's OK.' And I'm like, 'OK, whatever mom.'"
Bailee Ann also remembered the time when her mother used to make her take drugs when she was too young to know better. She stated how Felicia manipulated and convinced her to take drugs.
