Art Evans, the versatile actor known for his work in Die Hard 2 and A Soldier’s Story, died on December 21, 2024, at the age of 82. His wife, Babe Evans, confirmed his death and issued a statement saying that Evans died of complications from diabetes, a disease he had fought for several years.
Babe Evans who hails from Los Angeles, California, is an actress who has played roles in TV shows such as the MTV comedy series, The Hard Times of RJ Berger (2010). She also played a role in Lincoln Heights (2006) which was a drama series that aired on ABC Family (IMDB).

Art Evans was born on March 27, 1942, in Berkeley, California. During almost his 40 years of acting, he has accumulated more than 120 credits.
His acting journey began on stage which also included James Baldwin’s play The Amen Corner, staged on Broadway in 1965. Art Evans began his own transition to film and television during the 1970s, through movies like Sisters and Death Wish.
Evans’ cinematic breakout role was in the critically acclaimed war drama A Soldier’s Story (1984), in which he played Private James Wilkie. It was followed by his signature role as Leslie Barnes in Die Hard 2 (1990), in which he starred as a central character opposite Bruce Willis’ John McClane (USA Today).
Evans’ long résumé featured notable roles in Fright Night, Christine, Tales from the Hood, and School Daze, which was nominated for Outstanding Motion Picture award.
