Who is Anderson .Paak’s ex-wife Jae Lin? All about the singer linked to Mariah Carey

Anderson .Paak who was previously married to gospel singer, Jae Lin, have reignited dating rumors with Mariah Carey, following their interactions at iHeart Radio Music Awards.

On Monday, the singer was presented with the Icon Award at the iHeart Radio Music Awards. She had Paak by her side for the special occasion. He even helped her on the stage, further fuelling speculation about their relationship. The pair, who have a sixteen-year age difference, have recently got out of their respective long-term relationships.

Anderson .Paak, whose real name is Brandon Paak Anderson, was born on 8 February 1986. Not much is known about his childhood, as Paak is a very private person.

However, in a 2016 interview with Billboard, Paak opened up about his difficult childhood. He said:

"My little sister and I went out front, and my pops was on top of my mom. There was blood in the street. He was arrested, and that was the last time I saw him. I think he did 14 years.”

He also added:

“I got a call in class: ‘They arrested your mom today.’ She pled guilty to defrauding investors of millions using her produce distribution company, then went away to prison for seven years."

Anderson .Paak and Jae Lin married in 2011. In a 2016 interview, the "Malibu" singer revealed that Jae Lin is originally from South Korea and moved to the US to pursue her education.

During his 2016 interview with The Breakfast Club, Paak shared that the couple met at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, where he worked as a teaching assistant. They have two sons, Soul Rasheed and Shrine Tariq. In the same interview, the "Leave the Door Open" singer also revealed that he was married before Jae Lin but did not disclose further details and simply stated, "Jae Lin is the one that matters."

In a 2023 interview with Hypebeast, Paak said:

"My mom is half Black and half Korean, so I’m a quarter Korean, but I never knew much about my Korean culture until when I was married to my wife, who is fully Korean"

The family faced tough times as Paak navigated his path to success. At one point, he worked on a legal cannabis farm but was fired under unknown circumstances, leaving the family once again in difficult circumstances.

"We had nowhere to go. I had my whole family in a U-Haul. We had a little bit of money left from the few shows I’d done and the little bit of weed we could sell, but we’d exhausted all our options.”

The couple was married for thirteen years before Anderson filed for a divorce in 2024. In his filing he requested the court for joint custody of their sons, but asked the court to terminate any request for spousal support. The reason for their separation have not been revealed.

In a 2020 interview with Hypebeast, the Grammy-winning singer explained how the Pandemic brought him closer to his son, Soul, who has a YouTube channel named KhlexOfficial.

"We were staying up till two or three in the morning, making these videos together. It made me want to make a movie with him."

Although Anderson.Paak and Mariah Carey have been seen together frequently over the past year, but neither has officially confirmed their relationship.
