Carrie Underwood was not happy with her inauguration ceremony performance and felt that she was treated differently from the previous inauguration ceremony in 2021's performers.
Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, John Legend, Justin Timberlake, Demi Lovato, Ant Clemons, Jon Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, and Foo Fighters, performed at Joe Biden's Presidential inauguration in January 2021.
Carrie Underwood, 41, was scheduled to perform America the Beautiful in the U.S Capitol Rotunda during the Presidential inauguration of Donald Trump on January 20. Although the singer's performance was supposed to be accompanied by a musical instrument, the sounds played briefly before cutting out entirely due to a technical glitch.
Despite the glitch, the singer continued to sing Acapella after telling the staffers, 'I can just sing it," and asking the crowd to sing along. The singer received praise and applause from fans on social media after pulling through despite receiving previous backlash for performing for Donald Trump.
A source told DailyMail online that the singer was furious for not receiving "a stage or platform even" like previous performers. As per DailyMail, the changing of the location of the event to inside at the last minute due to cold weather predictions might have been a reason for the technical glitch.
Carrie Underwood supposedly threw a "hissy fit" after Capitol performance
Carrie Underwood, who performed America the Beautiful acapella for Donald Trump's Presidential inauguration ceremony on January 20, supposedly had a "hissy fit" due to a technical glitch.
An insider revealed to DailyMail online that the singer was furious for not receiving the same treatment as Beyonce or Lady Gaga, stars who performed at the last Presidential inauguration for Joe Biden in January 2021.
"Carrie was dissatisfied with her performance at the event, primarily due to the limited space she was given, which left her feeling cramped and uncomfortable."
The source went on to add,
"Her anxiety was high throughout the performance, and she felt that she was not afforded the same level of respect or admiration that previous performers, such as Beyonce or Lady Gaga, had received. She felt as if she was ushered in and out and had a mini hissy fit afterwards."
Another source responded to Carrie's reaction, saying the singer will "eventually laugh about it" and "take it for what it was." The insider also claimed that Carrie Underwood was "disappointed that it wasn't more of a moment as the moment she was searching for got altered with the technical difficulties."
Underwood's performance came after she received criticism for agreeing to perform at the ceremony, to which she responded by saying that she loves her country and is "honored to have been asked to sing at the inauguration."
