College Football Playoff director said it would be a community-inclusive event
Interestingly, Atlanta will be the first city to host the College Football Playoff National Championship for a second time. Rich Clark, executive director of the College Football Playoff said the playoff aimed to make the championship a community-wide celebration, featuring a diverse lineup of artists to appeal to various tastes.
In addition to music, the event will include a food festival, the interactive "Playoff Fan Central" experience, and a tailgate with more live performances. He highlighted that the festivities offer something for everyone, whether or not they are football fans. The activities will cater to food enthusiasts, runners, and music lovers alike.
However, beyond entertainment, the event also focused on giving back and supporting teachers and schools across Georgia. Executive director of the College Football Playoff Foundation, Britton Banowsky said,
“To come in and have a football game and then leave without having done something meaningful of a legacy nature would just not feel right.”
Organizers also saw this as an opportunity to showcase Atlanta’s attractions. This will allow visitors to discover the city’s unique amenities.
The January 20, 2025 game will determine the NCAA Division I football national champion, which serves as the conclusion of the College Football Playoff. ESPN is going to broadcast the matchup as per reports.
Last year’s championship, held in Houston, saw the Michigan Wolverines pocket a 34-13 win over the Washington Huskies. According to Rolling Stone, next year’s event is scheduled to take place in Miami.
