Who’s the Boss actor Danny Pintauro has been hospitalized after having a near-fatal scooter accident.
The former child actor took to Instagram to share the news, his pictures from the hospital, and a note describing the incident. Updating his followers about his health, he wrote:
“On Thanksgiving night, I got into a scooter accident. The bike lane I was riding in was suddenly blocked with cones and I was forced to choose between a van and a pylon. The pylons hurt!! Have a terrible scrape on my arm and I was pretty convinced I had broken my arm.”
He further added that he felt “a whole lot better” after the accident but started feeling “weird chest pains” late Saturday afternoon. After getting his reports from the hospital he came to know that he had an infection in his bloodstream due to a tear in the stomach lining.
“It’s been the most excruciating pain I’ve ever felt in my whole life,” he said. “So I had to have emergency surgery to repair the tear. The surgery went well, and now that it’s fixed, the pain is pretty much gone away, although I’m very sore.”
The 48-year-old informed his followers that he won't be able to eat or drink for three days. He added in the note that if he would have waited any longer, he could have died. Concluding his message, he asked his fans to light a candle for him and his arm is completely fine according to an X-ray report.
According to Pintauro’s social media, he lives in Long Beach, California with his husband, Wil Tabares.

"[I] went to the doctor’s office and got the news, walked back to work, spent another six hours doing talent agent stuff and went home and cried."
He made headlines during a 2015 interview with Oprah Winfrey, where the actor publicly revealed that he tested HIV+.
He moved to Los Angeles and focused on his education at Standford University. Inspired after seeing men embracing their s*xual identity on television, he returned to acting after three decades.
