Nina Dobrev and Shaun White are now engaged! The proposal took place at the Golden Swan restaurant in New York City. Making the big announcement on their Instagram, the couple shared a carousel of pictures showing the stunning proposal.
Taking to her Instagram handle, the Vampire Diaries actor wrote, “RIP boyfriend, hello fiancé.” While confirming Dobrev’s acceptance of his proposal, the Olympic snowboarding champion wrote, “She said YES.”
The pair looked dapper in black as they celebrated their moment of happiness amidst a romantic layout that was beautifully decked up with flowers and candles.
When Vogue asked Dobrev’s response on receiving a 5-carat diamond ring from fiance, she said, “I went into shock. I just froze and stared at him.”
Dobrev further revealed how White caught her by surprise by planning an elaborate proposal. She informed Vogue that White asked his publicist to send her a fake dinner invitation with Anna Wintour. When she arrived at the location White was waiting for her with a photographer.

Nina Dobrev and Shaun White met at an awards function in 2012, but they were formally re-introduced in 2019 at an event in Florida. The couple began dating and moved in together in 2020.
It was later in May they made their relationship Instagram official when Nina shared a series of pictures with White in which she is seen giving him a haircut.
The couple has supported each other in their careers. Dobrev posted photos on Instagram celebrating Shaun White’s retirement from his snowboarding career.

In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, White spoke about how Nina Dobrev helped him make this decision.
"My girlfriend said, 'If you're retiring, you gotta make this list of things you wanna do. So, I'm putting this list [together], and pretty close to the top of the list was, 'Go to a Super Bowl,' because it's always during the competitive season — I've never been to one."
They are often seen posting photos with each other on social media and sharing light-hearted moments.
Recently, Shawn posted a clip with Nina from the sets of Dwight Yoakam and Post Malone’s new music video for their song, “I don’t know how to say goodbye….” and hinted the pair left for L.A. soon after.
