Barack Obama was spotted sitting alone in the audience at the LA Clippers' NBA game on Wednesday, March 5.

Obama, who has been married to Michelle for 32 years, was spotted alongside Clippers owner Steve Ballmer, who is the former CEO of Microsoft, as well as his wife, Connie Snyder, at the showdown against Detroit Pistons at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood.

Obama, 63, has been subjected to intense speculation surrounding his marriage recently, even more so after he was spotted sitting alone at Jimmy Carter's state funeral and Donald Trump's presidential inauguration.

However, on February 14, Obama took to Instagram to dispel all such rumors when he uploaded a photo of the pair, wishing his partner a "Happy Valentine's Day." According to the Daily Beast, the last time the two were seen together publicly was at a dinner date in Los Angeles, in December last year.

Barack Obama received a warm welcome from Clippers fans

Obama appeared to be relaxed at Wednesday's game, seeing as he is a longtime basketball fan. During the interval, he was given a warm introduction when he was introduced to the 18,000-seat arena, prompting him to stand up and wave to his fans. The Daily Mail has reported that he was even greeted by Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue later on.

In the years since he left office, Barack Obama has helmed the creation of Netflix’s basketball docuseries Starting 5 via his Higher Ground production house. More recently, another Netflix show, Court of Gold, shed the spotlight on Team USA's journey to bagging gold at last year's Paris Olympics.

One exchange between Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards and the former president, however, has been grabbing attention. In a clip that has since gone viral, Barack Obama can be heard telling Anthony Edwards, as he referred to Joel Embiid having the latter's Wolves' number:

"Y’all got two 7-footers and he’s still scoring on ya."

As for Michelle Obama, she has been making headlines for the launch of a Featured Session with her and her brother, Craig Robinson, on Thursday, March 13 at 1 pm CT, at this year's SXSW.

“Michelle Obama has long been an inspiration to us at SXSW and to millions of people around the world," said Hugh Forrest, SXSW President and Chief Programming Officer. “Her belief that we lift each other up by sharing our stories with one another is a core part of the SXSW experience and a key catalyst in helping creative people achieve their goals. It is the ultimate honor and an incredible thrill to welcome Michelle and her brother, Craig Robinson, to the 2025 event.”

At the time of writing, neither Barack Obama nor Michelle have commented on the status of their marriage.
