When did Khloé Kardashian and Lamar Odom divorce? Reality star says she 'sheltered' Kylie and Kendall from the ordeal

Khloé Kardashian opened up about how she 'sheltered' her younger sisters from her marriage and divorce from Lamar Odom. Khloé, 40, acknowledged in the Kardashians' season 6 finale that she purposefully kept her sisters safe from the "nastiness" of her 2016 divorce from the former NBA player in order to protect their innocence.

Kendall, 29, told Khloé

“There’s so much that you kept from us — in a good way, not in a bad way, cause we were so young,"”

Kylie, 27, responded,

“I feel like he really was a huge part of the family and like a big brother to me. We had a silly, funny relationship."”

Khloé said in a confessional,

“I didn’t want to ruin that for them. I just wanted to preserve as much of their innocence as I could.”

After a brief romance, Khloé Kardashian married Lamar in September 2009, but adultery and drug misuse led to their filing for divorce in December 2013. Lamar had a near-fatal drug overdose in 2015, and the divorce was completed in December 2016.

On their recent reunion—her first meeting with Lamar in a long time—Khloé's reserved demeanor attracted Kendall in.

"It wasn’t that you were being blatantly mean or rude, it was just like, are you thinking people are gonna judge the way you handle it? Or is it that you’re more guarded? I don’t know,"

She continued,

"I see such a hostility still and almost like a — there’s definitely a wall, definitely a coldness. I’m sure it’s anger. I’m sure there’s so many reasons as to why."

Khloé Kardashian revealed that she felt like she was treated like a doormat during her relationship with Lamar Odom and her ex-boyfriend, Tristan Thompson. She disclosed how annoying it was to be told to "just get over it," particularly considering the fact that Kendall and Kylie didn't know everything at the time.

“Anyone that knows my situation… would be a different version of themselves this many years later. You have to protect yourself and grow.”

Khloé Kardashian calls out Lamar's action as "demonic and unwell"

Khloé Kardashian also addressed Lamar's recent contentious actions. In a podcast, the former athlete acknowledged that he had previously ordered a sex doll that was fashioned after her. Khloé Kardashian expressed her displeasure and annoyance that Lamar keeps bringing her up in public by calling the discovery "demonic and unwell."

Khloé said that she might have been kinder in her tone during the reunion, despite the history. She said,

"No, this wasn't my best moment."

“But also, there’s so much going on. The very last time I saw this person was very contentious and negative. It wasn’t good.”
