David and Victoria Beckham's former bodyguard, Craig Ainsworth, has been found dead.
The ex-Royal Marine's mother took to social media to reveal the news, which comes on the heels of a massive police search executed in Alicante and the Barcelona area in Spain. Ainsworth's mother, Sally, initially took to social media to pen a plea for help with any information pertaining to her son's disappearance.
At the time, she noted that her son, who was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, had “posted a last message on Facebook to say goodbye." However, in an update on April 5, she confirmed his demise with a photo of him in his military uniform and the following caption:
“Craig has been found. With the greatest sadness the world has lost Craig. He served in Afghanistan and he had PTSD. RIP Craig.”
Craig Ainsworth worked for the Beckhams between 2013 and 2015, while they were residing at their London home in Holland Park.

In the wake of their Netflix series, Beckham, making its debut, Craig Ainsworth said of his former employers:
“David was charming. Victoria kept to herself, she would be with the kids or working. With the spotlight they have been under, their kids are well-behaved. To have that level of fame and maintain their family unit, they must be doing something right.”
He also noted that their documentary was "an accurate picture of their life," The Daily Mail reported in November 2023. He said at the time:
"Who’s in charge? I feel most women are in charge and just let us men feel like we’re in charge half the time. David and Victoria are both highly professional and have had so much security we’re like back- ground noise to them, we’re part of the furniture."
The former Enfield, north London marine had been hired to flank the Beckhams via Gavin De Becker, a US security firm. Along with signing a 50-year Non-Disclosure Agreement, National World reported that in order to get hired, he had to pass tests like being pepper sprayed in the eyes and sparring with an MMA fighter, all while in the dark.
Craig Ainsworth, who served in Afghanistan, said of the patriarch of the Beckham family:
“David’s the English golden boy. I don’t know any celeb more loved by the public – of the stars I’ve looked after, the only one comparable would be Arnie.”
Crag Ainsworth is known to have protected other prolific celebrities during his career, like Johnny Depp, Amber Heard, Jennifer Lawrence, and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
