Adrien Brody and Halle Berry recreated their infamous 2003 Oscars moment on the 2025 red carpet. Immediately after the Monster's Ball actress kissed The Brutalist star, the latter’s girlfriend, Georgina Chapman, was captured embracing the former.
Brody and Chapman have reportedly been dating for almost five years. The couple met in 2019, more than a year after the Project Runway: All Stars judge parted ways with her former husband, Harvey Weinstein. Georgina Chapman and Adrien Brody were on a trip to Puerto Rico with their mutual friends. On the trip, the pair realized that they shared their birthday.
Chapman recalled the trip to Puerto Rico during an interview with Vogue,
“So the first evening we had a joint birthday party, blowing out candles together, and weirdly we even had almost matching outfits, we were wearing the same print.”
Per Page Six, the joint birthday party led to the start of a romance between Adrien Brody and Georgina Chapman. In 2020, The UK Sun (and other outlets) reported about the couple’s relationship while they made their first public appearance at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival. Chapman’s divorce from Weinstein was finalized in 2021, and she has continued to date Brody.

In 2017, Halle Berry appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, where someone asked her about the kiss. She revealed,
“No! That was not planned! I knew nothing about it. I was like, 'what the f*** is happening, right now?' That is what was going through my mind. Because I was there the year before and I know the feeling of being out of your body, I just f***ing went with it.”
On being asked by Cohen about how the kiss was, Halle Berry replied,
“I don't know — I was too focused on what the f*** is going on right now! I don't even know.”
After having her “payback” moment at the 2025 Oscars, the X-Men star even posted about it on her Instagram and captioned it,
“Surpriseee @adrienbrody!! I had to get some payback 😉🫶”
Brody never came out and apologized for the 2003 Oscars controversy. He recently talked about the incident during an interview with Variety,
“We live in a very conscious time, which is a wonderful thing. And nothing that I ever do or have done or would’ve done is ever done with the intention of making anyone feel bad.”
