Zachery Ty Bryan has been arrested on charges of DUI in addition to driving without a license in Oklahoma at around 8.30 am on Friday, October 25.
According to a report by TMZ, he was found asleep in the backseat of his car initially. After having been let off, he was found driving.
On questioning him, the Home Improvement star told the officials that he never stopped drinking. He further told them that he wanted to escape California as he hated that place.
Before the police took him into custody, the actor was asked to perform some sobriety tests.
Past accusations made on Zachery Bryan
It is not the first time that Zachery Bryan has been taken into police custody. In February 2024, he was arrested for a suspected DUI in California. He was later released on $50,000 bail.
Around a year ago, Bryan was arrested on the charges of a fourth-degree felony assault, third-degree robbery, and harassment in Oregon. This was regarding domestic violence alleged by an unnamed woman in July 2023.
As per a report, he pleaded guilty to felony assault in the fourth degree regarding domestic violence. However, after negotiating his second round of assault was dismissed by the authorities. Consequently, he was asked to serve seven days in jail instead of 19-20 months in Oregon jail.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Bryan revealed that the incident was “blown out of proportion.” He added that they “didn’t even really get that physical.”
“We were screaming and because we were in a townhome that had [thin walls], everybody could hear,” he said. “At the end of the day, [the police] throw a bunch of counts at you because they ultimately want you to plead to something,” he said.
In 2020, he was arrested on suspicion of assault and strangulating his then-girlfriend, Johnnie Faye Cartwright at their apartment in Eugene, Oregon. They got engaged in 2021 and share three kids. He was also accused of allegedly scamming people through cryptocurrency.
The reports suggested that during the assault he restricted his girlfriend’s breathing, and took her phone away when she tried to call 911.
