Former Bachelorette star Katie Thurston says her breast cancer treatment has been stalled after spots were found on her liver.
The reality star, 34, took to Instagram on Monday, March 24, to reveal that a liver biopsy has been scheduled for this week. She noted that her doctor,
“seemed to be leaning more on the cancer in the liver vs optimistic it was nothing. This would put me at stage 4."
She added,
“I'd love to hear from my sisters who are stage 4 in terms of quality of life, motherhood, etc.”
According to Us Weekly, Katie Thurston also issued updates to her fans via her Instagram broadcast channel called Boobie Broadcast, revealing that her doctors had uncovered “two liver lesions” that indicated “metastatic disease,” noting,
“The next step is a biopsy of the liver spots to confirm for sure.”
Katie Thurston announced on social media that she had been diagnosed with stage-3 breast cancer back in February, revealing at the time that she had,
"scheduled appointments for another biopsy, fertility, mental health, surgery, as well as meeting with my team to discuss the overall treatment plan, which will include chemo."

In a lengthy Instagram post announcing her diagnosis, Katie Thurson penned:
"I experienced a range of emotions over the past two weeks. Despair. Anger. Sadness. Denial. And then strength. Purposeful. Ready. I cried a lot. I tried to even make a video instead of this post and couldn’t. But one thing I did early on was search other stories like mine. Other young women with breast cancer. Invasive ductal carcinoma. Mastectomy. Pregnancy after breast cancer. All of their stories helped. So I intend to be the same for others. This is day one of sharing and is going to be a long one. This first step of acceptance of my reality was the hardest. But I am ready to fight this."
She also thanked her husband, comedian Jeff Arcuri, for his support, noting,
"The selfless love that you smother me in is beyond anything I imagined I’d be blessed with. I love you to the fullest in this lifetime and the next. 🤍"
The duo tied the knot just this week, having announced the news on March 23. The news comes six months after they revealed that they were engaged. According to E! News, the pair wed in an intimate ceremony in their backyard, with only their puppy Charlie and their parents in attendance. They later celebrated the occasion with dinner at a restaurant in NYC.
