Tina Knowles, Beyonce's mother, has spoken in favor of her daughter and slammed rumors that the singer took a hefty sum of money to speak at Kamala Harris's campaign. Candace Owens accused the singer of seeking money from Harris to support her in the presidential elections. Knowles has publicly called her out for doing so.

For the unversed, many Hollywood celebrities were rooting for Vice President Kamala Harris to win the US presidential election against Donald Trump. However, Trump won by popular vote and is all set to return to the White House.

Beyonce also participated in Harris's campaign and asked Americans to vote for her. Now, Tina Knowles has openly criticized Candace Owens for spreading "fake news."

Knowles shared the screenshot of a video earlier posted by Owens and penned a lengthy note. She wrote,

"So this has been flagged on Instagram as fake news and taken down. It's called False Information. Sadly other platforms with a lack of integrity still have it up. The lie is that Beyonce was paid 10 million dollars to speak at a rally in Houston for Vice President Kamala Harris."

She continued to claim that her daughter did not take any payment and rather paid for her own flights.

"When In Fact: Beyonce did not receive a penny for speaking at a Presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris's Rally in Houston. In fact she actually paid for her own flights for her and her team, and total Glam."
"They are not only lying and disrespecting Beyonce's name but they are trying to further discredit the power of our vice president! When does the lies and rumors stop? Of course you won't see this in the news !!!!!" she concluded.

Owens has also accused various other celebrities, including Cardi B, of receiving a payment for endorsing Harris. Much like Tina Knowles, the Up singer also denied these accusations.

Following the controversy, netizens are lauding Tina for standing up for her daughter. "Speak on it Mama Tina," wrote an Instagram user, while another penned,

"We know Ms.Tina we never believe the false narratives."

John Legend also supported Knowles and wrote,

"Let em know, Ms Tina! We all performed/appeared for free because we care about our nation’s future."

Earlier, Oprah Winfrey also clarified that she did not take money for the event The United for America in September. She claimed she supported Harris with her "time and energy."

Meanwhile, Beyonce has not responded to these rumors.
