Katy Perry's Blue Origin rocket will launch from Launch Site One, at roughly 9:30 a.m. ET on April 14. The singer will be accompanying Gayle King, Lauren Sanchez, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen, former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bow, and producer Kerianne Flynn in the space company's all female crew.
The space company will air the launch live in a YouTube video stream at 8 a.m. ET and will also provide a live stream on its website. Additionally, the launch will also be broadcasted on CBS Mornings at 9 a.m. ET and streamed live on Paramount+ at 7 a.m. ET.
Their rocket, NS-31, will reportedly lift off from Texas, and the mission will last 11 minutes, including the liftoff and touchdown time. NBC's Priscilla Thompson, while speaking on Sunday Today on April 10, explained the details of the mission and mentioned,
"The 11-minute ride won't achieve orbit, but it will send the crew soaring past the Karman Line, the unofficial boundary of space."
Perry and the crew will stay in space for four minutes, where they'll experience "weightlessness". Blue Origin's all-female crew mission will be the space company's 11th human flight take-off. The company led by Jeff Bezos has taken 48 people to space, including celebrities like William Shatner, NFL legend Michael Strahan, Jeff Bezos, and Wally Funk, among others. The first tickets for space were sold for $28 million.
