The renowned MTV host Matt Pinfield is back from a coma and is currently planning a comeback. The 63-year-old television host Pinfield, who gained prominence hosting the classic MTV show 120 Minutes, suffered an extremely serious stroke, for which he went into a coma on January 2, 2025. However, the news of Pinfield emerging from the coma came as a bit of a shock, but his fans and well-wishers are glad to find out that he's stable.

After coming back from the coma, Pinfield was released from the hospital at the end of February. However, he did not return home. Instead, he was taken to a rehabilitation center in Los Angeles for further recovery. Recently, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, while sharing his health update, Matt revealed that he still needs time to recover and get back on his feet. He mentioned that he'd be coming back swinging soon.

The former MTV host also talked about how his doctors thought he wouldn't be able to come back to his senses and talk or speak again. However, things for Pinfield are not the same anymore, as he is slowly regaining his health.

Right after Pinfield was hospitalized, his older daughter, Jessica, who is 38, applied for a temporary conservatorship as a legal conflict broke out over her father's assets. Matt's younger daughter, Maya, was also worried about his health as well as his finances.

Both his daughters, Jessica and Maya, were primarily worried about their father's girlfriend, Kara Brown, having access to his bank accounts. Not only that, they also doubted that she might try to withdraw money. However, his older daughter, Jessica, eventually got the temporary conservatorship.

Now, coming back to Matt Pinfield's MTV show, 120 Minutes, which focused on promoting and showcasing new alternative rock music, first aired in 1986 and turned out to be a big hit. The show saw multiple hosts over the year. However, Pinfield joined as the host in 1995 and quickly became popular. He hosted the show for eight years but in two phases: 1995-1999 and 2011-2013. MTV's 120 Minutes was Dave Kendall's brainchild, and he was the show's creator.
