Australian author Lauren Tesolin-Mastrosa, who goes by the pen name Tori Woods, has been charged with possessing, disseminating, and producing child abuse material, for her book Daddy's Little Toy.

The Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation received several complaints against the book. The Australian Federal Police referred them to New South Wales Police, who arrested the author on March 21, 2025 from her Quakers Hill home near Sydney.

The book centers around the relationship between an 18-year old and her father's friend and is an erotic fiction novel. As per the Daily Telegraph, readers who received advanced copies for review alleged that the book made graphic references of the father's friend fantasising about the teenager since she was just three years old.

The outlet also noted that the "police received multiple complaints. Her latest book contains graphic fictional child abuse material."

The NSW police in a statement reported:

"...Detectives attended a home on Penn Street, Quakers Hill and arrested a 33-year-old woman before [she was] taken to Riverstone Police Station. At the home, police executed a search warrant – seizing several hard copies of the novel – to be forensically examined"

The book's Goodreads page has been taken down, and readers have slammed the author in the author's reviews section.

Lauren Tesolin-Mastrosa responds to backlash against her book

Before Lauren Tesolin-Mastrosa deactivated her social media accounts, including her LinkedIn profile, the author took to her social media account to respond to the outrage, calling it a "big misunderstanding."

"DLT is definitely not promoting or inciting anything ever to do with child s**ual abuse or pedophilia. o int3rcOurs3 happened while she was young. What is being said is grossly disturbing and breaks my heart as well as makes me sick. YES there were thoughts and I can see how that is frowned upon."

Georgia Stove, who designed the book cover reported that she has since received death threats. In a statement, she revealed that she has cut ties with Lauren Tesolin-Mastrosa,

"I have cut ties with Tori Woods, effective immediately. All I had known about the book was the blurd which read 'barely legal' and in my mind I truly thought that was okay. I am here to answer any questions you may have. Just please stop with the threats over something I had no say in."

Lauren Tesolin-Mastrosa works as a marketing executive at BaptistCare and was a former journalist for News Corp. While a BaptistCare spokeswoman noted that the organisation will not comment on individual employees' circumstances, she confirmed that they have "recieved complaints regarding an unnamed employee" and as a result, "the employee was stood down effective march 20" while they undergo an internal investigation.

Lauren Tesolin-Mastrosa was granted conditional bail and will appear before Blacktown Local Court on March 31.
