South Korean actor Song Jae-rim has passed away at the age of 39. He was best known for his work in K-dramas such as Moon Embracing the Sun and Two Weeks. According to Distractif, he passed away on November 12, and his death was confirmed by the Seongdong Police Station in Seoul.
According to Variety Magazine, his friend found the actor's body in Seoul’s Seongdong Ward at 12:30 p.m., around the time the two were supposed to have lunch. Details surrounding the cause of death remain scarce, and as per the outlet, there were no indications of foul play.

As reported by Distractify, a two-page letter was found at the scene, alongside some nicotine concentrate. Many online are now speculating that he could have died by suicide, although this remains to be confirmed. The outlet reports that the case is still being investigated, while officials have confirmed that there is "no suspicion of murder or other crimes" at play.
Song Jae-rim's funeral services are being held in Room 2 at the Yeouido St Mary’s Funeral Hall located in Seoul. His memorial is slated for 12 p.m. KST (10 p.m. EST) on Thursday, November 14. Reportedly, his body will be buried at the Seoul Metropolitan Crematorium.
The actor recently changed his bio on Instagram to “Start of a long journey," and with over 437K followers, his last post came out on January 23. He shared two mirror selfies, taken in his make-up trailer. Clad in a black t-shirt, he was seated at the dressing table when he took the photos, and his comments section was disabled. On X, his last activity can be traced back to March.
Song Jae-rim made his debut in the 2009 film Actresses, and by 2012, he was propelled to fame with his role as a warrior in the 2012 drama Moon Embracing the Sun. Notably, he only appeared in 20 episodes, and his character was beloved for being loyal to the king.
By 2014, his success grew further with his role in the 2014 reality show We Got Married, where he made an appearance in 38 episodes. He starred alongside South Korean actress Kim So-eun. From there, the two made their way to star in the TV series Our Gap-soon (2016).
One of Song Jae-rim's final few appearances was in Get Rich, an action-comedy film directed by Yang Tae-jin.
Song reportedly bagged the leading role, and production is believed to have started in September. He also starred in the series My Military Valentine and Queen Woo, both of which came out this year.
