Federal officials have found notes in Sean Diddy Combs’ cell which hinted that the hip-hop mogul paid a woman, allegedly former Dirty Money member Kalenna Harper, to issue a public statement supporting him. According to an exclusive from Allhiphop, the information came to light after a search was conducted across prison facilities.
According to the investigators, the notes indicated a payment agreement supposedly linked to Harper, whom he referred to as 'Witness 2', after she released her Instagram statement in September 2024.
Her comment came after another ex-Dirty Money member Dawn Richard filed a lawsuit against Diddy in late 2023 accusing him of various forms of abuse. In her suit, Richard mentioned that both Kalenna Harper and herself witnessed Combs assault his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura.
In her Instagram statement, Harper acknowledged Richard’s lawsuit saying that she had the right to recount her experiences although it was her narrative and not a universal truth. She wrote,
“It's important to understand that while I was present in some of the same professional settings mentioned, many of the allegations and incidents described in this suit are not representative of my experiences, and some do not align with my own truth. Tony and I have always conducted ourselves with the highest level of professionalism and integrity. We were not involved in, nor were we aware of, any behavior that could be considered abusive or unlawful.”
Kalenna Harper refrained from sharing more details as they were a part of an ongoing lawsuit. She concluded her statement by expressing her trust in the legal system as she hoped that the case would be handled with fairness.
Government filings indicated that there were over 128 communications between Diddy and Kalenna Harper
According to government reports, Diddy and Harper shared more than 128 communications, which eventually led to her releasing the Instagram statement. Diddy also reportedly shared Richard’s lawsuit documents with Harper.
The hip-hop mogul’s legal team denied the allegations, claiming them to be a series of false claims. His lawyer Erica Wolf mentioned that Richard tried to go beyond their friendship to extort monetary benefits from Combs. However, the exchanges between Harper and Diddy have reportedly made the case more suspicious.
The hip-hop mogul will appear in court on November 22, 2024, to make the fifth motion to seek exit from the Metropolitan Detention Center. Nevertheless, he will face trial in May 2025.
According to a Rolling Stone exclusive from May 2024, Kalenna Harper said joining Dirty Money in 2009 was highly influential in her musical career. Calling Diddy extremely cool, she added the artists who blamed the hip-hop mogul for their careers might suffer from ‘disgruntled employee syndrome.’
Social media users have reacted strongly to Harper's statement. Now with the claims of her getting paid for it, the discourse around the case might take a new turn. As for Harper, the singer-songwriter is best known for her stint with the musical group Dirty Money. Her songs like Coming Home were quite popular among the fans.
