A controversial figure in sports media and sports columnist Jason Whitlock shared his own take on the ongoing controversy and a sexual harassment lawsuit brought against Skip Bayless by his former colleague Noushin Faraji.
Jason Whitlock shared his opinion by strangely bringing Shannon Sharpe into the conversation. Although Sharpe isn’t specifically sued, Whitlock has argued that the ex-NFL star may have indirectly had an impact on Bayless’ behavior.
The lawsuit, by Noushin Faraji, a former Fox Sports hairstylist, described Bayless's inappropriate behavior, such as lingering hugs, unwanted physical contact, and a $1.5 million offer for intercourse. Faraji’s claims depict a toxic atmosphere at Fox Sports, marked by rampant harassment and misconduct.
The lawsuit also has allegations that Bayless accused Faraji of having a sexual relationship with Sharpe, adding a twist to the story (Daily Mail).
Although Sharpe has denied any connection, Whitlock has insinuated that the former tight end helped create a competitive culture that could have influenced Bayless’ behavior.
In comments cited by various media, Whitlock accused Sharpe of participating in a "sexual Olympics" at Fox Sports. Jason Whitlock said:
"He walked around that place like he was banging every makeup and wardrobe girl in the place... (he) was known for running around there in the tightest little boxer shorts he could find and nothing else."
According to Jason Whitlock, Bayless might have deemed Sharpe’s actions as a challenge due to his competitive behavior. This eventually led him to take part in inappropriate behavior that ultimately resulted in legal action.
Jason Whitlock has not confined his criticism to Bayless and Sharpe. An article by Marca stated how he has also spoken about the systemic problems in the media industry, including the treatment of women in male-dominated environments.
Jason Whitlock Faces Backlash for Controversial Remarks on Joy Taylor
Jason Whitlock made the headlines again after addressing allegations made on an FS1 co-host, Joy Taylor. The lawsuit, filed by ex-Fox Sports hairstylist Noushin Faraji, claims the network created a hostile workplace. It also accused Joy Taylor, in particular, of forming workplace romances.
Though Whitlock refrained from directly criticizing Taylor for her alleged behavior, he made some inappropriate comments regarding her looks. “I know what I’m capable of,” he said, referring to Taylor’s physical attributes and stating that he intentionally chose to “stay away” from her.
These comments, which focused on her looks rather than the allegations, have drawn widespread criticism online. Critics and fans have pointed out how Jason Whitlock's comments take focus away from the serious claims in the lawsuit and depict a form of misogyny.
