James Corden has caught some attention lately. Recently, the English actor and comedian made a cringey s*x joke about Dame Judi Dench that left the audiences in shock at the star-studded Breakthrough Prize ceremony, which was organized in Los Angeles on Saturday. Corden joked on stage at the event,
“Tonight is the one night that Hollywood and science come together, other than of course that one magical evening where Dr. [Anthony] Fauci had a one-night stand with Dame Judi Dench."
According to The Daily Mail, there was silence in the hall after the audience heard this awkward one-liner from Corden, and the camera was panned on Olivia Wilde, who looked on in utter shock. Dame Judi Dench was not in attendance.
The Breakthrough Prize is the world's largest prize distributed in the field of science. The prizes often referred to as the 'Oscars of Science' was founded by Sergey Brin, Yuri and Julia Milner, Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg, and Anne Wojcicki. This year, the award ceremony was attended by some big names, such as Drew Barrymore, Bill Gates, Paris Hilton, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson, Lizzo, Christina Aguilera, and Mark Zuckerberg.
An appearance was also made by Jeff Bezos and his fiancée, Lauren Sanchez, along with Gayle King and Katy Perry.
James Corden was previously criticized for making jokes about Harvey Weinstein
In the year 2017, when Corden was hosting the amfAR Gala Los Angeles, the comedian cracked a joke about Harvey Weinstein's s*xual assault allegations. The comedian said,
“It’s a beautiful night here in LA. So beautiful, Harvey Weinstein has already asked tonight up to his hotel to give him a massage. It has been weird this week though, watching Harvey Weinstein in hot water. Ask any of the women who watched him take a bath.”
The joke cracked by Corden was met with audible groans by some A-list celebrities, such as Kate Hudson, Fergie, and Tom Hanks. The comic started a series of jokes on Weinstein by saying that Harvey has a message for all beautiful people out here.

He then said to the audience that he didn't know whether the groan was because they liked the joke or disliked it.
He concluded the series of jokes by saying that Weinstein wanted to come to the event but failed to do so.
"Harvey Weinstein wanted to come tonight, although he'll settle for whatever potted plant is closest."
Shortly after the video clip of the video started making rounds on the internet, many netizens criticized Corden's action.
As per an article by The Guardian, James Corden was forced to apologize for making jokes about Harvey Weinstein at the charity event.
Actor Rose McGowan, who alleged Weinstein of s*xually assaulting her, also tweeted a clip of Corden's speech with the caption 'You motherf***ing Piglet.' She further said that all the laughs and grunts from the audiences show what kind of Hollywood you really are.
Corden apologized for his jokes and mentioned that his jokes were to shame Weinstein and not his victims.
