Online streamer IShowSpeed aka Darren Jason Watkins Jr. is having his fanboy moment after businessman and YouTuber MrBeast added him to a football group chat. As per reports, he has been trying to get in touch with Cristiano Ronaldo and so in a recent live stream, Watkins Jr. asked MrBeast to do something about it.
Eventually, MrBeast added IShowSpeed to the group chat but reportedly warned him against sending any weird messages to the footballer. MrBeast introduced IShowSpeed in the group chat saying,
“Ronaldo this is speed the biggest streamer in the world, he wanted to say hi.”
After that, Watkins Jr. sent his first text to Cristiano Ronaldo writing,
“Hey Ronaldo it's Speed we met about last year I just wanted to say hi, and hopefully we can meet again soon, cheers.”
During his stream, IShowSpeed showcased his elaborate CR7-themed room, complete with a large CR7 logo on the wall and a signed Portugal jersey, all part of his $100,000 setup honoring his football idol. He had previously met Cristiano Ronaldo in an emotional moment at a Manchester United match in June 2023.
Although he had attended other major football events, such as Al-Nassr games, the streamer had not had the opportunity to collaborate with Ronaldo, until recently.
In September 2024, Ronaldo along with Watkins Jr. reportedly contributed to raising over $100,000 for a boy named Francisco. Francisco had spent nearly two weeks in a coma after surviving a tragic explosion in Portugal that claimed the lives of his family, making him the sole survivor.
IShowSpeed, an American YouTuber and streamer, is known for his entertaining live streams, bold stunts, and funny videos, achieving significant success in his career. Reports indicate that Cristiano Ronaldo is also a fan of Watkins Jr.’s streams, especially those featuring the 'Siu' celebration.
A look into IShowSpeed’s newly designed room
IShowSpeed’s newly designed room features a football-pitch-themed floor with an astroturf. Behind the door, there is a custom locker displaying a "Speed" jersey and kit. There is Cristiano Ronaldo’s signed Manchester United jersey from the 2021-22 Premier League season on one side of the bed.
Above the bed, a massive Luffy head served as a striking centerpiece, reflecting the streamer’s admiration for One Piece and its protagonist, Luffy, a series he has credited for offering comfort during COVID-19.
The room also has two televisions, a wall adorned with ornaments, and a custom desk designed to resemble Luffy's enlarged "Gum-Gum" fist, holding his setup. The desk has a unique PC case showcasing memorable moments, including Speed's live-stream stunt of jumping over a car.
A sidewall displayed Ronaldo's iconic number 7 jersey set against the Portuguese flag colors, while the ceiling boasted a multicolored football mirror with an infinity effect.

During the encounter, Speed revealed his tattoo, while Ronaldo acknowledged that his son had informed him about the YouTuber's presence. Once Speed composed himself, the two posed for photos and engaged in a brief conversation.
