It seems like reality TV star and singer Tamar Braxton and singer-songwriter, actress, and entrepreneur Kandi Burruss have not buried the hatchet yet. The two, who featured together in the second season of Celebrity Big Brother, have been involved in a years-long feud that was recently reignited.

Burruss and Braxton’s beef flared up again when Burruss, who was a longtime cast member of Real Housewives of Atlanta, spoke to Entertainment Tonight. In the interview posted to YouTube on March 22, Burruss was asked if she’d like to invite Tamar Braxton to one of her restaurants. The question was followed by an old clip of Braxton dissing one of Burruss’ restaurants, Old Lady Gang, which she said nobody wants to visit. Burruss responded to the question, saying,

“I'm not playing games with clowns… I'm not going to be in the circus with you sweetheart, like we're not doing that ever again”

Burruss had already warned ET's Brice Sander, the interviewer, that he should not bring Braxton into the interview.

Tamar Braxton responded to the Xscape singer’s comment, posting a clip of Burruss singing, according to Kempire. As per a screenshot shared by Bossip, Braxton commented on the since-deleted post, writing,

“[clown emoji] on fire”

A day later, Braxton took to her Instagram again to post a video selfie of herself. The Braxton Family Values star made another reference to Burruss’ “clown” comment in the caption, writing,

“At the circus”

Tamar Braxton and Kandi Burruss’ feud explored

Tamar Braxton and Kandi Burruss both got their start in the music industry in the 90s as part of R&B girl groups. Braxton was a part of the group, The Braxtons. Burruss ’was a part of Xscape, which produced three platinum-certified albums.

In a September 2022 interview with Haus of Aaron, Burruss addressed the reasons for her alleged feud with former Real Housewives of Atlanta executive producer Carlos King. In the interview, Burrus alleged that King stole her group, Xscape’s life story, and pitched it to a network without her knowledge or permission. Burruss said,

“My main issue with Carlos is he is the one who stole my group's life story and sold it to TV One, and for that, I just can't get past it”

Continuing, she said,

“I was talking to a friend, I was like, ‘hey yeah we should do like a movie about you know our Xscape life or whatever,’ and they were like they were, it was a director that Todd and I were speaking and they was like, ‘somebody's already doing it,’ and I was like, ‘what you mean somebody is doing it?’”

At the time, Braxton appeared on Dish Nation and commented on her support for King. She said,

“I don't agree with her calling him a thief, you know what I mean. I think that's a little like what off the deep end”

In October of that same year, Kempire noted that Tamar Braxton, who had toured alongside Xscape during their Great Xscape Reunion Tour of 2017-2018, posted another response to Burruss’ allegations against King. Braxton, alongside a post of herself that King had posted earlier, defended the producer again on her Instagram stories. As per the screenshot shared by Kempire, Braxton wrote,

“My friend @thecarlosking who don’t have to steal nobody NOTHING…I [heart emoji] you”

Later that year, Tamar Braxton slammed an unknown Real Housewives of Atlanta celebrity couple for “threatening” her. Reality Blurb shared that the Celebrity Big Brother 2 winner took to her Instagram stories and wrote,

“I was threatened by a [peach emoji] and they man…”

The main cast members of Real Housewives of Atlanta are often referred to as ‘peaches.’

Continuing, Braxton wrote,

“I feel like if I did wht they did … they would have told the WORLD…It’s BEEF and it’s a REAL BEEF cause yo HUSBAND stepped to me! Periodt!”

While neither Braxton nor Burruss confirmed the identity of the couple that allegedly threatened Braxton, Reality Blurb quoted a source who identified Burruss and her husband, Todd Tucker, as the alleged couple.

In a 2023 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Tamar Braxton was asked by fans which Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member’s husband had allegedly threatened her. When Cohen asked if it was Kandi, Braxton simply smiled and took a sip from her drink. She seemingly confirmed Burruss’ identity when Cohen said he thought they had patched up after appearing together on Celebrity Big Brother. Braxton said,

“I thought so too, I had no idea. I’ll tell you the story later.”

While Kandi Burruss had earlier refrained from commenting publicly on the feud between herself and Tamar Braxton, her recent “clown” comment seems to have flared up tensions between the two again.
