Richard Perry, renowned music producer and Jane Fonda's ex-boyfriend, passed away at 82. He succumbed to a cardiac arrest at a hospital in LA on Tuesday.

Perry was perhaps most known for his work with The Beatles, as he produced Ringo Starr's 1973 album, Ringo. He is also credited with Carly Simon’s hit track, You’re So Vain, and Sir Rod Stewart's The Great American Songbook.

Richard Perry and Jane Fonda dated for eight years, from 2009 to 2017. As reported by People Magazine, they shared a five-bedroom house in Beverly Hills at the time, though they moved out and put it up for sale after the split. Perry, 74 at the time, said in a statement to the outlet:

"It is true that Jane and I have decided to live apart. However, while separations run rampant in this town, often filled with negativity, ours is just the opposite. We continue to maintain a close friendship and care deeply about each other. Jane has rededicated herself to activism and I am finishing my memoirs. So all is well with the Fonda-Perry relationship. We’re just starting a new chapter.”

Here's all we know about Jane Fonda and Richard Perry's relationship before they "amicably" parted ways

As reported by the outlet, in a video interview for Oprah.com, Fonda revealed that she and Richard Perry fell in love while he was caring for her as she recovered from knee surgery. In the video, she claimed that she went to L.A. “to get a new knee and ended up with a new lover.” At the end of the clip, when Fonda wraps up a tour of her house, she can be seen dancing with her then-beau.

“Hello I am Jane Fonda and I am in my home, the home that I have shared with my partner Richard Perry for a number of years,” Fonda says in the video. “Richard and I must have looked at more than 30 houses and the day we pulled in through the gate into the front, I took one look at the house and I knew. I just knew.”

The Grace & Frankie actress never tied the knot with Perry, though she has been married and divorced thrice. As reported by Startsat60, back in July 2013, Fonda revealed that getting married was not in the cards for her ever again. She said at the time:

"I will never get married again. What would be the point? The very thought of it makes me feel claustrophobic. Too many times, I have said, ‘This is it.’ But never again."

As for their split, a source told People Magazine that it was "very amicable.” Not much else is known about how they met, why they parted ways and the nature of their bond.

In his personal life, Richard Perry dated high-profilers like Elizabeth Taylor and Jane Fonda, and he was also briefly married to actress Rebecca Broussard.
