Nancy Kwan is pulling back the curtain on her new memoir, The World of Nancy Kwan. While the book dives deep into her life as an Asian in Hollywood in the 1960s, it also reportedly deals with the actress's loss of her son, Bernhard Pock. In the memoir, she distinctly recalls her experience filming for the 1960 romantic drama The World of Suzie Wong, for which she received a Golden Globe nomination for her role as Suzie Wong.

Nancy Kwan had a son, Bernhard Pock, with her first husband. Unfortunately, he died of AIDS in June 1996 at the young age of 33. He reportedly contracted it from his wife. A year after her son died, Kwan published a memoir titled Celebration of a Life - Memoirs of My Son, crediting her late son as the co-author.

Bernie Pock was a stunt artist and the son of Chinese-American actress Nancy Kwan and her first husband, Peter Pock, an Austrian hotelier. He was born as Bernhard Peter Pock on 28 March 1963.
Bernie grew up in Hong Kong from age nine to sixteen, after he and Kwan moved there to look after her father following her divorce from her second husband, David Giler. The duo moved back to LA after the 85-year-old actress married director Norbert Meisel.

According to reports, Bernhard Pock met an older woman named Debra Jane Lasley in 1990. Once in a relationship, they found out that Debra had AIDS (both were unaware of this). On testing, it was revealed that Pock had contracted HIV from Debra. Debra passed away in 1992, the same year the couple got married. Four years later, in 1996, Pock himself succumbed to AIDS.
According to Fandom.com, Bernhard Pock was a stuntman, martial artist, and stunt actor whose career started in 1984 with the movie Streets of Fire. He is said to have worked in titles like Star Trek, 24 Hours to Midnight (1985), Police Academy 2: Their First Assignment (1985), North and South (1985), Rescue 911 (1989-96), Baywatch (1991), etc.
He also expanded his career as a stunt coordinator in movies like Rage and Honor (1992), Dangerous Minds (1995), etc. Bernhard Pock was on the path of expanding his career further, as he made his debut as a director with the drama Rebellious in 1995, but unfortunately, the very next year, he passed away.
