American singer and rapper Megan Thee Stallion is currently at the top of her career. The 29-year-old succeeded in her early twenties with her tracks Big Ol Freak and Hot Summer Girl. Her professional life changed in 2019 when she became AP Breakthrough Entertainer of the Year. However, her personal life also changed as she lost her mother, Holly Thomas, to a brain tumor.

Thee Stallion often fondly talks about her late mother during her shows. She has honored her for being her support system. In her new documentary Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words, which recently premiered on Amazon Prime Video, she opened up about how she lost her mother.

In the documentary, the 29-year-old singer recalled how her mother began having back-to-back seizures. Her mother's condition left her in shambles. The documentary featured several incidents with animation, including her mother's death.

Megan revealed her mother became brain-dead and was in the hospital. She added,

"So I stayed up there every day. I was spending the night at the hospital. I just was praying that she could shake back from it."

While Megan hoped her mother would recover, she did not. Therefore, the singer decided to pull the plug as she thought her mother would not have wanted to stay like that.

"Once I realized she wasn't coming back, I was just like, 'Damn, I can't keep her like this.' Because I know she wouldn't have wanted to stay like this."
A weeping Megan continued, "So I had to make the decision to pull the plug, and she just passed the next day."

Following her mother's death, Megan Thee Stallion continued with her shows and was back on stage after three weeks. She mentioned how her mother was her "number one fan" and would help her out in her career.
