Victoria Siegel was one of the children of The Queen of Versailles stars Jackie and David, who passed away a decade ago.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, the 18-year-old was found unresponsive at her parent's Seagull Island mansion in Windermere, Florida. Victoria Siegel was reportedly discovered around 02:00 pm and declared dead at the hospital. Initially, the cause of her death wasn’t determined, but later, it was confirmed to be an accidental drug overdose.

Victoria Siegel’s death had a significant impact on the lives of Jackie, David, and their family. The Queen of Versailles couple started the Victoria’s Voice Foundation in a bid to help those who have been facing issues similar to their late daughter's. In 2015, Jackie and David spoke to People Magazine about their child’s death. The billionaire founder of Westgate Resorts told the magazine,

“One hundred percent of my focus right now is on saving lives. Not on business, not on houses, not on reality shows. I want my daughter’s legacy to be that thousands of lives will be saved because she lost hers. That’s what’s keeping us sane.”

During the interview, he also spoke about the issues Victoria Siegel was facing,

“Victoria was the perfect storm. She had trouble getting through high school, she didn’t like school, so she wasn’t making good grades. She did graduate, but when she graduated, she didn’t plan to go to college, at least not right away.”

David told People Magazine that Victoria was seeing a psychiatrist, who prescribed her Xanax. The businessman-TV personality said that his 18-year-old daughter got “hooked” on the prescription drug.

The Queen of Versailles stars shared Victoria Siegel was one of the eight children

The later founder of Florida-based timeshare resort firm, David Siegel, raised eight children with his third wife, Jaqueline “Jackie” Siegel. They shared six biological kids—David (25), Daniel (24), Debbie (23), Drew (21), and twins Jacqueline and Jordan (18).

The couple adopted Jackie’s niece, Jonquil (31), when her mother passed away. At the same time, Victoria Siegel was Jacqueline’s daughter from a previous relationship, whom David adopted.

After the death of Victoria Siegel, the couple became extra vigilant in raising their other children. In a 2019 conversation with The Times, David revealed,

“We drug-test our kids. We watch them closely.”

He also told the British newspaper that marijuana was the gateway drug for Victoria. Later during the chat, David admitted,

“I wasn’t a good father. I did not spend a lot of quality time with Victoria. That’s part of it, too, I’m sure. But if I had spent more time with her, I still wouldn’t have recognized it, because I didn’t know things that I know today.”

In 2022, the Siegel family was the subject of Discovery+’s Queen of Versailles Reigns Again. After the reality TV series' premiere, Jackie talked with The New York Post. The chat was centered around her late daughter. Jackie said she didn’t let the cleaners enter Victoria’s room and touch her stuff. She told the outlet,

“When Victoria died, it felt like my world fell apart, and all the money in the world could not bring her back.”

Besides sharing eight children with Jackie, David had four biological kids from his other two marriages. He was married to Geraldine Florence Sanstrom between 1961 and 1968 and fathered three children—Steven, Valerie, and Richard. He also had a biological daughter with his second wife, Betty Tucker.

David Siegel, who spent the last decade fighting the drug problem and educating others about the addiction, passed away on April 5, 2025. Jackie Siegel announced the news of his passing on social media. She also posted a family statement, revealing that David spent the last months of his life surrounded by his loved ones.
