A long-running conflict between DJ Akademiks and Meek Mill was rekindled after a user brought up that the No Jumper podcast was mentioned in a RICO case, implying that it was comparable to Meek's earlier accusations of snitching against Akademiks. The rapper's "Meek talk too much… shut up and rap. More raps, fewer tweets! These all bots and campaigns" to a user tweet caused the rapper to react outrageously.
How the feud reignited
The long-running dispute between DJ Akademiks and Meek Mill was rekindled on March 19 after a Twitter user tagged the rapper in a post that was uploaded by DJ Akademiks about the RICO case,
Never one to back down from an online argument, Meek Mill retorted with a cryptic but aggressive remark that appeared to be a shot at Akademiks and the media,
"Meek talk too much .... shut up and rap .... more raps less tweets ... no more tweeting! You think the geeks want the street guy really from the street talking while they get intimidated and be insecure! These all bots and campaigns"
DJ Akademiks quickly retaliated, accusing Meek of a self-inflicted issue, labeling him a hypocrite, and also calling him a dummy, he tweeted,
"Take some accountability dummy. U cried bout violating probation when u POSTED A INSTAGRAM video of yourself doing a wheelie and got locked up later. You street dudes do the most snitching .. how many times u threatened me on here..STREET N*GGAS DONT TWEET ALL DAY LIKE U"
Then he stepped up his scrutiny of Meek's internet persona by typing out,
"Reminder … you got sent to jail for posting ur own crime. How yall street niggas love internet so much. Stop blaming civilians for yall downfall. SELF SNITCHING. Blogs ain’t send u to jail. You did you dummy!!! “POLICE SAW A IG VIDEO”
Meek Mill has yet to respond to his recent tweets.
Meek Mills and DJ Akademiks Beef Timeline
Since 2017, Meek Mill and DJ Akademiks have been embroiled in a beef that has been marked by online diss, public altercations, and allegations. Tensions between them have only become worse over time as Akademiks refused to promote Meek's record Wins & Losses in the manner Meek's crew requested.
It all started back in 2020, when Meek Mill openly demanded that Akademiks be "canceled" claiming that he was inciting rap feuds and promoting negativity in the hip-hop industry. Meek implied in a tweet that Akademiks benefited from rap feuds while evading responsibility, saying,
“Akademiks canceled because he’s a bad police and our culture don’t need them… he also gassed a lot of beef that got people killed and hurt and never donated a dollar to the culture! We gon holla at you next run champ lol.”
Akademiks retaliated by disparaging Meek's impact and career. Akademiks took Meek's later assertion that he had "greenlit" him and took it seriously and stated he had called the police to seek protection. He said,
“Just remember that Meek Mill is nothing but a hypocrite… I know Ak is supposed to be the dude who like you could just get everything off on. Cool, I’m just trying to tell you that bro, I‘m just not into being bullied…
He continued,
Stop telling the world you’re greenlighting people and just do what you have to do. 'Cause when you said green lighting, I sent that to the police. I’m gonna be honest with you.”
When Meek and Akademiks argued back and forth during an explosive Clubhouse argument in December 2020, the tension reached a breaking point. Meek claimed that Akademiks encouraged violence between rappers, while Akademiks defended himself by claiming that he was only covering already-existing disputes.
In an attempt to defuse the conflict and broker a settlement, rapper 21 Savage stepped in. Both the rappers praised by tweeting how 21 Savage intervened and de-escalated the situation. Even two years later after the incident, Akademiks praised 21 Savage on the Breakfast Club podcast.
And then in February 2024, When Akademiks said that Meek was mentioned in a 73-page lawsuit against Diddy, even though Meek's name was not in the document, the conflict was rekindled. He asked,
“you been tweeting about everything on planet Earth. If you don’t get a Twitter rant saying you about to get Lil Rod killed, you bout to shoot up his block, blow up his momma’s house… This n***a saying you and Diddy were fornicating! What the f**k? Meek!?”
Meek quickly responded on X, denying any involvement and accusing Akademiks of spreading false information. Meek wrote,
“Akademiks didn't I tell you stop playing with my name… idk what ima do when I actually see you! It's gonna have a combination to it tho!”
Their long-standing feud reignited once again in 2025 when Meek Mills was tagged in a tweet.
Meek Mill has yet to respond to any of his recent tweets as he has blocked DJ Akademiks on X.
