During an appearance as a co-host on the April 3 episode of Today with Jenna and Friends, Olivia Munn questioned what Lauren Sanchez, Gayle King, and Katy Perry are going to do in space with their Blue Origin mission.

The three women, along with former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, bioastronautics research scientist Amanda Nguyen, and film producer Kerianne Flynn, make up the program's first all-female crew.

In a Thursday press release, Blue Origin noted that the launch is scheduled for spring this year.

"What are they doing? I know this probably isn't the cool thing to say. But there are so many other things that are so important in the world right now."

She then went on to add,

"What are you guys gonna do up in space? What are you doing up there?"

When host Jenna Bush Hager noted that the mission would last only for 11 short minutes, Olivia Munn compared the experience with Disney's Space Mountain rollercoaster.

As per Blue Origin, this mission will be the 11th human flight for the New Shepard program. The company so far has flown 52 people, including Star Trek actor William Shatner and Jeff Bezos.

"This is a lot of resources being spent" - says Olivia Munn about Blue Origin's all-female crew space mission

Olivia Munn, while speaking to Jenna Bush Hager on Today with Jenna and Friends, also questioned why Blue Origin, an American Space Technology's next mission is made public news when they have already flown 52 people so far.

"If you wanna go to space, why do you need to tell us about it, you know? It's just like, go up there, have a good time, come on down."

She then also questioned the cost of the mission,

"I know this is probably obnoxious, but like, it's so much money to go to space, and there's a lot of people who can't even afford eggs. This is a lot of resources being spent."

When Jenna added that the crew is supposed to be decked up for the mission, Munn was surprised and questioned if they "said this out loud?" and questioned why it is "historic" for the women to go "on a ride" and noted that "it's a bit gluttonous."

Olivia Munn also wondered about the intent behind the mission, since she believes that "space exploration was to further our knowledge and to help mankind" and questioned what the crew would do "up there" that will make things better for people "down here."
