President Donald Trump shared his opinion on Ocean's Eleven star George Clooney after his interview on the 60 Minutes show on the CBS network.

The 47th president of the United States took to Truth Social and called Clooney "a second-rate movie 'star' and failed political pundit."

So, what exactly did George Clooney say that angered President Trump?

Well, the 63-year-old actor, who is one of the significant fundraisers of the Democratic Party, recently appeared on the 60 Minutes show, where he discussed a bunch of topics including the 2024 presidential elections, and also talked about his appeal to Joe Biden to step aside from the presidential race.

President Trump called Clooney out mainly for his opinions towards press freedom in the United States. The two-time Academy Award-winning actor had said:

"We're seeing this idea of using government to scare or fine or use corporations to make journalists smaller. Governments don't like the freedom of the press. They never have. And that goes for whether you are a conservative or a liberal or whatever side you're on. They don't like the press."

Besides talking about the 2024 presidential elections and so on, Clooney also discussed his Broadway debut Good Night, and Good Luck, which is the adaptation of his 2005 thriller drama film of the same title. Clooney is the lead in the play, which revolves around an honest journalist, Edward R. Murrow, who gets into conflict with a powerful and influential senator, Joseph McCarthy.

The Syriana star George Clooney also drew parallels between the events that take place in Good Night and Good Luck with the two lawsuits filed by Donald Trump against news outlets like CBS and ABC News. He also addressed the difficulties that journalists have to go through in America.

Clooney further added:

"When the other three estates fail, when the judiciary and the executive and the legislative branches fail us, the fourth estate has to succeed."

What did Donald Trump say about George Clooney on Truth Social?

After what George Clooney had to say about the 2024 presidential elections, Joe Biden, and press freedom in the US, Donald Trump responded by stating:

"Why would the now highly discredited 60 Minutes be doing a total ‘puff piece’ on George Clooney, a second-rate movie ‘star’ and failed political pundit."

Then he said:

"He fought hard for Sleepy Joe’s election, and then, right after the Debate, dumped him like a dog. Later, I assume under orders from the Obama camp, pushed all out for ‘Kamala,’ only to soon realise that this was not going to work out too well."

President Trump further added"

"What does Clooney know about anything? Clooney should get out of politics and go back to television. Movies never really worked for him!!!"

Trump also called Clooney a "fake movie actor."
