English singer Charli XCX will be making another appearance on Saturday Night Live this weekend, on November 16, 2024. This will mark the singer’s third time on the show, following her roles as a musical guest during Martin Freeman's episode in 2014 and Oscar Isaac's in 2022.

However, this will be her first time taking on the dual role of both host and musical guest. As seen from the promo of the upcoming SNL episode, she teamed up with cast member Marcello Hernández. After she introduced herself, Hernández asked,

“Charli, I have a personal question to ask you. What’s your real name?”

The singer replied,

“I never tell anyone this but it’s Charleston Ten One Hundred Ten.”

It must be noted that Charli XCX’s real name is Charlotte Emma Aitchison and the one she said seemed to be her humorous take. Following the trend, Marcello Hernández humorously revealed his real name as Marcellonian Hernandingleheimer.

Charli also interacted with Hernández in other moments, including teasing that "the nation" would judge his outfit as either "brat" or "brong," accompanied by a knowing look in his direction.

Another clip released on November 13, 2024, parodied the viral "Brat Summer" trend tied to Charli's hit album from June 2024. In the scene, Charli XCX rehearsed her lines before being joined by Chloe Fineman, who expressed excitement about her hosting gig.

The singer responded with a single word, "Brat," to all of Fineman’s questions, from asking how she felt to inquiries about a rash, maintaining the playful tone throughout.

What does Charli XCX’s ‘Brat’ actually mean?

The singer had previously clarified the meaning of "brat" in a TikTok video, describing it as embodying someone who embraces their messy, party-loving side while being honest, blunt, and unpredictable. A brat person would be someone who might have a breakdown but "parties through it."

This wasn’t the first time Saturday Night Live referenced the "brat" trend. Earlier in season 50, cast member Bowen Yang impersonated the singer during a sketch for a fictional talk show called The Talk Talk Show with Charli XCX.

After the episode, Charli XCX expressed her appreciation for Yang’s portrayal, noting that she was particularly impressed with the accuracy of the wig and its texture, calling the overall impression well-done and "cool" during an interview with Howard Stern.

Recently, the singer-songwriter was seen leaving SNL rehearsals in a cropped tee paired with a feathery brown jacket and long jean shorts. Completing the look with Y2K-inspired sunglasses, a small black bag, and slouchy knee-high leather boots, her outfit captured New York City's current fashion trends.

When Vice President Kamala Harris was announced as the Democratic candidate for the upcoming election, Charli XCX took to social media to label her as "brat." Following this, Harris' campaign headquarters updated the header on their official X account to a brat-inspired green.

Her SNL appearance followed the conclusion of her successful Sweat Tour with Troye Sivan. The tour spanned 22 shows, generating $28 million in revenue and selling 297,000 tickets, based on Billboard Boxscore data.
