Rapper, YouTuber, and entrepreneur DDG, whose full name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., recently sparked a response on the internet following a clip from one of his live streams that went viral.

In the video, he was candid about his financial obligations, saying that if he quit working, he would go broke fast because he had a lot of bills to pay.

"Did I tell you how much my bills is a month? Ni**a, my bills has sh*t. Like, if I don't work, I'm gonna go broke ASAP." he said in the stream.

The rapper stressed what it takes to truly maintain a lavish lifestyle while supporting his family and also staying relevant in many fields.

"I have multiple homes, multiple cars. I have family, I have a child, like Ni**a. I spend a lot of money and when you spend money, you gotta make money." The rapper said.

DDG’s path to riches started in Pontiac, Michigan, where he was a promising student, even graduating top of his class as valedictorian. According to Yahoo News, he first became popular on YouTube while still in high school, and he later retired from his job in retail thanks to his earnings from YouTube.

He eventually moved into music, going from a viral star to a known name in hip hop. His indie release “Arguments” went gold, and he later signed to Epic Records.

While music brought DDG success, he has always been a fan of multiple streams of income. Among his most ambitious projects is his Web3 imprint, DAO. What differentiates DAO from a traditional record label is that it is a fan-owned label where members can vote on different decisions and share in the success.

DDG's thoughts on other business ventures and helping family members

DDG has also invested in real estate and has a portfolio that includes several homes and cars. These are the lucrative long-term assets and costs he alluded to in his livestream.

The rapper expressed in an interview that he wants to have multiple streams of income, stating that if he weren't making music, he would be on YouTube dropping content regardless. He also expressed his desire to own a type of business or step into acting.

"If I weren't making music, I would be creating content of some sort, acting, owning businesses, and thriving; basically, what I'm doing now, just without the music." He said in an interview.

DDG has contributed to the development of his family’s online presence. He has supported family members in starting and expanding YouTube channels by giving them the necessary tips and tools.

He gave his mother a channel with a large audience and often collaborates with his brother and nephew, both of whom have developed their own careers in the digital world.
