In the midst of the continuing legal dispute between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, Bart Johnson-Lively's brother-in-law has apologized for his harsh remarks about Baldoni. Johnson had been vocal in supporting Lively but he has now apologised for his previous statements.

Bart Johnson, the High School Musical actor addressed his previous social media remarks on January 28, 2025, on X (formerly Twitter). In the past, he had referred to Baldoni as a "fraud" and charged him with cultivating a false public persona. However, Johnson disassociated himself from his previous statements in his most recent ones.

According to the US Weekly, Johnson stated this in a since-deleted tweet:

"My comment wasn’t for any individual. Never said a name. It was directed at a certain ‘type’ that I find performative and disingenuous when they post clips of themselves being ‘amazing’ and even add sappy music to enhance it.”

Johnson continued admitting that his remarks were hurtful and did not represent his principles:

“Regardless if it’s true or not, if it’s my opinion, even if I’m trying to speak truth or stand up for someone, it’s never good. Even in times where it might ‘feel’ justified and like doing the right thing, it makes no difference. There’s a better way.”

He went to express his regret:

“I do sincerely apologize to anyone I’ve hurt or let down by saying something that sounds mean. I’ll do better.”

Bart Johnson's Past Comments on the Blake Lively-Justin Baldoni Feud

Following weeks of vocal support for Lively, Bart Johnson has issued an apology. Lively sued Baldoni in December 2024, claiming that he had engaged in a smear campaign and s*xual harassment while working with Baldoni on the sets of It Ends With Us.

Baldoni responded by suing Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and her publicist, Leslie Sloane, for $400 million, claiming civil extortion and slander.

Johnson defended Lively on social media at the time by leaving a remark on a case-related Instagram post from the New York Times. He tweeted:

“Her complaints were filed during the filming. On record. Long before the public conflict. The cast unfollowed him for a reason.”

Johnson went on to add that Baldoni's public relations team had developed a "gross and disgusting and highly effective" plan to discredit Lively's accusations.

The Legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni

Bart Johnson might be withdrawing from the fight, but Lively is unwavering in her quest for justice and is sticking to her allegations against Baldoni.

As reported by Us Weekly, Baldoni has engaged in "calculated retaliation", according to her legal team, which compares his behavior to classic DARVO tactics (Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim and Offender)

In the meantime, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynold and her longtime publicist Leslie Sloane are all facing a $400 million lawsuit from Baldoni's Wayfarer Studios, which claims that they have intentionally tried to discredit him and ruin his career.

The courtroom confrontation is anticipated to be one of the most intense legal disputes in recent Hollywood history. The high-profile trial is set for March 9, 2026, as per USA Today.
