Taylor Rousseau Grigg, a TikTok star and influencer, tragically passed away at the age of 25 due to complications from asthma and Addison's disease. Her sudden death occurred on October 4, 2024, and was confirmed by her family through a representative.
Taylor's husband, Cameron Grigg, announced her passing in a heartfelt Instagram post the following day, describing the loss as "sudden and unexpected." Her family also shared that her organs were being donated, and no additional details were immediately provided. Cameron has also set up a GoFundMe account to "help the family cover the costs".
He wrote:
"No one ever expects to have to deal with this kind of pain and heartache, especially at our age. This past year Taylor has dealt with more pain and suffering than most people do in a lifetime. And in spite of that she still has been such a light and always brought joy to everyone around her."
What was Taylor Rousseau Grigg suffering from?
Taylor Rousseau Grigg passed away due to complications from asthma and Addison’s disease, as confirmed by her family. Addison’s disease is a rare condition in which the body doesn’t produce enough essential hormones like cortisol and aldosterone because the adrenal glands don't function optimally. It is also known as adrenal insufficiency and only affects about 4 to 11 people per 100,000 in the general population.
Symptoms can include extreme fatigue, weight loss, and low blood pressure. Asthma, which affects the airways, can also lead to breathing difficulties and, in severe cases, life-threatening attacks. There is no cure for Addison's disease and the treatment usually involves managing symptoms with HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy). Taylor's death highlights the dangers associated with these conditions.
In a TikTok video from August 8, Taylor Rousseau Grigg opened up about her declining health, but didn’t share specific diagnoses at the time. She mentioned to her followers that although she used to be highly active and fit, her health had deteriorated significantly.
Grigg shared that her health issues began after her marriage in August 2023, explaining that she hadn’t been well for a long time. Despite her struggles, she refrained from revealing further details about her condition during that video. She said:
“It just sucks because I’m 24 years old, I should be in my prime, I should be able to carry my suitcase up the stairs, I should be able to walk to the mailbox, or run, and those are just things that I can’t really do right now,”
Taylor Rousseau Grigg's last post on Instagram was a reel that combined videos from her wedding. She captioned it as — "Happy one year to us. I love you Cameron!! 💛"
On the GoFundMe page for Taylor Rousseau Grigg, her family announced a benefit in her honor. The heartfelt post expressed deep sorrow for Taylor’s passing, asking people for privacy as the family and friends grieve.
The message also acknowledged the impact of her online community, thanking her social media followers for their love and support, which brought Taylor immense joy during her life.
